Kwl. That desert is so flat. O.o
And if it's legit, where did you get the stone? I don't see any mine. And why do you have a wooden axe? WorldEdit? >:[

It's legit, but before I made the file, I copied it in my saves, played the alt, and used singleplayercommands to empty my inv and get those items, so you can use them to build a bigger tree farm. I forgot to add the cobble, though. Yes, the axe is from worldedit. I made that world a long time ago for an adventure map, and I wanted a flat desert. I just reused the world, and switched out of creative. I had the axe, so I left it there. I also added the furnace in the alt. I figured you would like to make torches/jack-o-lanterns.
TL:DR: I had this as an old save, which was worldedited. I got the items using SPC to let you build a bigger one. I added the furnace in the new save before I sent it out. The rest is legit.

Would it be a practical idea to make the entrance to your secret base the toilet in your non-secret house?

Yes. I have a wooden house with just a bed, a chest, and a furnace and my secret actual house is under the crafting table, and I should stop talking now.

New snapshot.
But now that singleplayer is multiplayer, what's the point of the multiplayer button?
multiplayer lets you connect to server, single player lets you start server.
Oh Well then how do you choose what world you want to be multi-player? And how do you know what the ip is?

Ooh, new snapshots has writable books. They're a new item with editable pages. Make in-game novels. Also 3 new wooden slabs to match wood types, they now need an axe to collect instead of a pick.
Waitreally?
SHOW ME THE LINK D:<
EDIT- I went on the wiki. I've always loved the idea of editable books, but I'm a bit disgusted books require leather now.I don't know the full recipe yet but I think they are still easy to make as long as you have cows.
That's why you stock up on books while 1.2.5 is still around XD

I made an entire room (50x50) full of large chests full of 64 stacks of books when I heard about that.

Thinking of making a library full of written books? o.O
I mean, you only need 90 to make a full set of bookshelves for an enchanting table

I downloaded the snapshot, but I can't play the game
It just keeps saying 'Updating Minecraft: Done Loading'
I can't play SSP in the snapshot. It just says login failed because of what they changed with single and multiplayer being merged.

Yay, I registered for Minecraft (classic)! Multiplayer's really cool. If you find a Maxskywalker somewhere, feel free to say hi.

Whenever I go on a server, I get a java error. Anybody have a fix for this?

OS? For me, it doesn't work on a Mac. Again: I hate Apple. They don't let anyone else write a Java player for them, but the Java player Apple makes is buggy and slow.

The wiki says it Singleplayer will be local based multiplayer... cue list of pros and cons
Pros:
-Allows for easy access from your friends
-Makes minecraft as a whole a community
-Lets you interact with your friends easier
Cons (if not an option):
-Open to griefings
-Can no longer pause
-May reintroduce some more glitchiness/lag to singleplayer
-Client mods may perish
If its optional, then I'll be happy, because I don't want to have to be forced to a community, because I don't know what I'll face. Perhaps there'd be a menu with for it...
You'd have Local Play
You'd have Wi-Fi Play
In Local play, you can create either a local world or a singleplayer world. Under Wi-Fi, you'd have the regular old servers.

You mean Windows 7? Newest version of Java? Recently ran an antivirus scan? Reinstalled Java in case of corruption? What's the error?
