Are you using your ip to connect? If so, check it hasn't changed.
Also try using "localhost" to connect.
Thanks for the website Cassie! I'll definitely add itI can connect with localhost and my local ip (192.168.1.250) but not my public ip (173.191.235.22) or my server url... My friend tried to connect too from his house and it doesn't work for him either. What is going wrong and how do I fix it? Please help!
That means you haven't port forwarded correctly
Am I doing anything wrong?

I can't connect. That's your local ip. We need a public ip. Try whatismyip.com.

jji7skyline, did you ever see if I did anything wrong in the screenshot I posted?

Um, terminal? I tried command prompt, and I tried opening the CraftBukkit in Java. No response. I opened the batch file, and that just gives me an command prompt error.
Edit: looked at troubleshooting. Now it says can't access the .jar.
Edit: I tried to change the filetype of the .jar (which my computer sees as a winrar file) and it says I can't change it because it's open in java. It's not.

Yes, you forwarded the default MC server port 25565 but you have a 4 number port in your address. Use the port 25565 since it is the one you forwarded and also since it is the default port

Yes. 25565 wasn't cooperating so I just switched to 2244. And yes, I changed the port value in the properties file to match it.

I found an auto-installer and that won't even work!
Oh, and portfoward.com is a spam website...
Edit: I've gotten up to the portfowarding. The link, like I said, is a spam website.

But you portforwarded 2244?
And yes, portforward has lots of ads, but it's actually a great site

Are you people purposely ignoring me?
If not, sorry.
I just want to get this up by tonight.
Edit: Back to portfowarding. Now I get a 401 error when I put in my admin password.
Edit: Up to no-ip. Do I really need to do that step? I never restart my router, and I think I can keep up with that, anyways if I do.

Try later.
No, you don't need a no-ip domain name. It's optional.

Maybe add that?
That took a while to even LEARN HOW TO SIGN IN.
I still have the problem "Can't find .jar"

Make sure the .jar file in your .bat file is the same as the name of your actual jar file (should be in the same folder). If neccesary, change either the name of the file, or the text in the .bat file.

JJI7skyline, What do I do? Did you check my screenshot I posted yesterday?

Yes. In the screenshot you were portforwarding 25565. Then you said you were using 2244. Make sure you have portforwarded the correct port (if you're going to use the port 2244, make sure you've forwarded 2244 and not 25565.)

I named my .jar
craftbukkit.jar
the text I have in Batch:
@ECHO OFF
SET BINDIR=%~dp0
CD /D "%BINDIR%"
"%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar
PAUSE
Okay? What did I do wrong?

And they are both in the same folder?
If all fails I'll send you a copy of a sample server folder.
