Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time

There was a topic about Bowser's Inside Story, so I thought a topic about Partners in Time was only right.

I absolutely love how AlphaDream re-arranged the Mario world into a hilarious, fun-to-play, easy-to-pick-up yet still challenging RPG game.

Has anyone else ever played this game?

Weakest of the series. BIS was the best.

PIT had a darker tone, with a better plot. (Though BIS's plot is pretty good, I liked the shroobs.) Music was darker as well.
PIT gave the vibe ''If you're looking for an easy, happy game that''s short to waste a few hours",
GO. AWAY."

That's true; it DID feel like the darkest game of the series. It was also the hardest one as well (in my opinion). BIS, on the other hand, was a bit TOO happy. It was also the easiest game in the series for me.

So... I wonder how long it'll be until a Superstar Saga topic pops up?  hmm

She's a pushover if you've got the Ulti-Free badge.

Of course I did.
And btw, the easiest way to get free beans is to play the baby spinning minigame in Thwomp Volcano. You need to get a perfect score of 50. The patterns of the scattered gems are easy to memorize. Also, each gem gives you 1 coin, so it's a great way to earn money fast!  wink
I recommend that anybody trying to collect all the beans should save up for the Ulti-Free badge before getting any of the other ones Fawful sells. The wait is definitely worth it.

Not trying to brag, but I get it perfectly about 80% of the time.  tongue

Another good strategy is to defeat some Gold Koopaleons in the Thwomp Volcano to get tons of coins, then use them to play the slot minigame. Rolling 3 stars gives you beans. If you have good timing, you'll get the 3 stars almost every time.  wink

Gold Koppealons give lots of exp.
And also, I found Bowser and baby bowser one of the toughest fights.
I found ALL the bosses in the thwomp area difficult.
That's where the difficulty spiked.
Or maybe it was toad town.

Nah, you were right. Thwomp Volcano is where the difficulty spikes; once you go there you can't really go back to Peach's Castle until you get to the end of Toad Town.
To me, Toad Town has always seemed a lot more morbid compared to the other areas; there are only 2 Toads that are still there, the music is very sad and to top it all off, the Love Bubbles and those spiked skull creatures make the place seem quite scary. Having a low level like I did at the time made the place feel especially dangerous. Whenever I had to play as the babies individually, I always stayed underground to avoid the enemies.
I was relieved though once I reached Star Hill. It was dangerous, but calming.

Toad town was ALSO where the enemy attacks got a lot harder to dodge.
Toad town made me sad.
I almost cried.

BIS was fun, but....
It didn't have  NEARLY as much emotional stuff in it.
And vs. Shroob commander, I kept trying to KO the big bomb. XD
Too bad it has, like, 99999999hp or somethin.'
