increasing size of sprites?

hello im trying to make a background, but my picture doesnt cover the whole thing, and i dont see how to edit the size of it in the paint editor,  is there a way to do this?
if not could you tell me how big should it be so that it covers the whole screen.

set size to (your amount)%

Is your background a sprite?
If it is, just look at the toolbar above the stage, click on the expand button, and click on the sprite.
If you background is part of the stage, edit the costume and use the tool with the hand to make it larger.

You can click the expand button in the paint editor as well.

that wont work it makes it too big as in  instead of covering the whole screen  it just makes it so big that it centers on the middle of it rather than the whole thing

If that happens, you have to keep clicking until it takes up the whole space. However, that might make it a little grainy and pixlated.  hmm
