Hi, I am posting again about my Steve in Space game. The game is 60GB large. That's right, 60 GIGABYTES. That's average about 62000KB. Grand Theft Auto IV is about 15GB, and a simple scratch project with only 1 level and a menu is 60GB.
Now, seeing this project is absolutely massive, I cannot store it on the scratch website for you guys to inspect. So I'm going to try and tell you what I have on it...
31 Sprites
8 Music Tracks from YouTube to mp3 (there are other sounds but their memory usage is minuscule)
8 Backgrounds (again, memory usage minuscule)]
That is about it. I forgot to mention the insane amount of scripts, however surely these cant be the case?

Are you sure it's not 60 megabytes, not gigs?

Yes, it is. Have you tried compressing the sounds and images? Edit>Compress sounds and Edit>Compress image.

How do you know that it's 60 Gigabytes? I never thought Squeak (the programming language Scratch is written in) could take so much data. When I had 1 large script Squeak ran out of memory for it.
What's probably getting it so high is all the Music Tracks. On one of my projects an uncompressed music file on Scratch took more than 18 MB.
Maybe if you want to put it on the Scratch website duplicate your project and compress one of your now two projects and upload it. But with that much memory it takes it's going to almost completely ruin the quality of everything.
Edit: In the two minutes it took me to type this, this thread already gained 3 posts...

I have compressed to the very minimum, and I am still not seeing a significant change in memory.
Click share and when the box comes up asking for your username, password, project name, etc... Make sure that the "Compress sounds and images" is checked and press ok. It should compress it down to 10 MB.

I would say that it's the music tracks, unfortunately. 8 songs are going to take up quite a lot of space. Could you remove some, or perhaps shorten them and loop certain parts of the song? It's not ideal, but it might be the best way to keep the size down.
@TorbyFork: Compressing the project doesn't guarantee it'll be less than 10MB. There's only so far you can compress files.

It has always worked for me...

It is the music, 1 second of music is like 40 kb!
