...and not the project. Just the default, cat on a white background. I have to go from the scratch opener to get round this. I have tried a re-install but nothing..
Edit: I also get this when i open scratch from the exe file, or the shortcut without opening projects.

By “Site/Explorer” I think you mean that you are on the Scratch website using Internet Explorer?
Assuming that’s true, I don’t know what the “Scratch Opener” is. I’ll also assume that you mean Scratch, the programming language. But what you are saying doesn’t make sense, then.
Could you please clarify?

Right click on the project, go into Open With, and select scratch there, then check Do this with all of this file type, or something like that.

Hi all,
In explorer, there is no Scratch Icon for the Scratch Project files. If you are running Scratch 1.4 for windows, then you don't have an icon for your Scratch Project Files (.sb).
To resolve this issue:
1. Google: Scratch download
2. Click the link that says, "Scratch 1.4 Download|Scratch Documentation Site"
3. Scroll down until you see: "Have an old Computer?
Try using an earlier version of Scratch."
4. Click the link that says, "earlier version"
5. Under the Scratch 1.2.1, Find the download link for windows
6. Click the download Link
7. Run the installer
8. (Make sure that you downloaded the files to your desktop for easy deletion)
9. Go in the Folder on your desktop and select: the folder called, "Icons", and the ".DS_Store" File.
10. Copy these files to where you have installed your most up-to-date version of Scratch---(for me it is 1.4)
11. You are done.
Sincerely,

Hi all,
What I (newguy3) wrote earlier, this worked once and was only a temporary solution to the windows problem. However I would like to add some steps. The steps would be:
1. Click the Tools menu
2. Click on “Folder Options”
3. Click the File Types tab
4. Click on the Sb file extension
5. Click the restore button
6. Click the change icon button that popped up
7. Browse for the Icon files that you installed.

Oh you should just open projects in Scratch not directly from a browser
