Can't you install it via Synaptic where it'll automatically get all of the require packages?

I've never needed to do this. I used Ubuntu (Natty Narwhal) until the 11.10 update when it became too slow, and I just put Windows XP on it. Now I am dual booting with 10.04. Anyway, the instructions I was following were all command-line based using wget (url)

Well, you still can especially if it has so many dependencies.

Try this?

SED is temporarily abandoned while I move onto new areas, such as AI with pathfinding, individual reactions, and group communication.  More complex projects are also brewing.

Re: Dual Booting

Does anyone know where to get a Snow Lepoard .iso without torrenting?

Re: Dual Booting

Nobody'd host a file that size without torrenting.

Re: Dual Booting

Remember that Torrenting is not inherently bad or illegal, that downloading a Snow Leopard .iso would likely be copyright infringement regardless of whether it is torrented or not.

I was just assuming that he didn't want to torrent, specifically.

Would it be fine if I created an ISO using the disk?

Try the Lion Thumb Drive. It's the best way to install Lion without installing Snow Leopard first. It's also legal and is priced similarly to that Snow Leopard DVD.

Re: Dual Booting

I was able to get some version working on Windows XP with VMware Player. It was a torrent and it was modified to work on not-Mac architecture I do believe.

Also pricey, even on eBay.

I'm on Windows 7 with VirtualBox. What torrent did you use, I'm worried that if I choose a bad one I will get a trojan or something.

I have no idea, sorry. It was a while ago and I've uninstalled and reinstalled uTorrent several times since then.

Ok. I think I'm going to give up on dual booting Mac. Do you want me to request a topic title change so we can keep talking?
