It might be worth trying to help from an adult and friends who also work with Scratch. This might be a good place to get started.
My parents do not approve of Scratch.
Why not?
They believe it is pointless.

Wait until you become a famous programmer and they regret saying that.

Mine too.
My dad says I'm wasting my time with Scratch when I could be using a real game design program. At least my Mom is supportive.

Who can I look forward to meeting at the MIT one?
I intend to be there, although it'll entail a cross-country flight because I have events here in California the week before and the day after! But I'm an adult so I don't know if that's what you meant.
P.S. All you people with parents who think Scratch is a waste of time should tell them that here at Berkeley we have a (more or less) Scratch-based course for our undergraduates. (It actually uses BYOB, a Scratch mod.) It's serious stuff.

You could mention me. I started out with Scratch about four years ago and am now studying Games Technology at university. I've learnt about five other programming languages but I'm still here with Scratch because I know that Scratch is what piqued my interest in programming and was an excellent solid base to begin on - and I believe that staying here and helping other people appreciate Scratch as the excellent foundation it is is worth my time and effort!

There are NEVER any in Canada.
Why can't that ST member from Vancouver host one?
I would TOTALLY go.
I live near there.

Make one!
You don't need to be an ST member to host a Scratch Day!
