make scratch faster

on my computer
java can do 60 million+ loops
on the same computer
scratch can do 2388 loops
and scratch takes FOREVER to connect to the network

if there is any way to make scratch faster
please do it
and also
can you please use the normal openFileDialog that everything else uses
instead of the annoying custom one?

Well there's probably not a way to make it faster, since if there was, they'd do it.

And I agree, it's rather annoying.

The Flash Player is already a lot faster. Expect that speed for 2.0.  wink

Actually, my understanding is that they purposefully slowed scratch down...

Yeah, they added a slight delay between loops. See this article.
