I just decided on a $5 cheaper Asus 550 ti GPU. Can you please check my list again? I added a new Asus motherboard. It looks good so far. Just what I want. But it only has 1 CPU fan connector and 1 chassis fan connector. My case has 3 fans. Will that work? And for the GPU, are its fans powered through the PCI-E 2.0 slot?
Speaking of cases, will 650w be enough for everything? And is there any way I could get a PSU and case for under $100 altogether? I really like the Rosewill I have chosen now, but something around $75 would meet my goal.
PS- It would be nice if the case had prepunched holes for potentially adding liquid cooling sometime in the future
Thank you so much for all your help!!!
Looks good. I think that the chassis fans will probably get power from a standard 4-pin connector (like you use for the hard drive). And yes, the fans are powered from the PCI-E slot....but the whole card is not. For cards that use more than 65W, they use a second connector (a different, square-shaped 4-pin connector). You will have to use that also.
After going through all the power usages, 650W is actually overkill. The whole system would run happily on 400W. That means you could get this, which will save you $40 bucks.
Oh, and this case looks almost exactly the same as the one you want (except for the led color), but is $10 less. It only has one fan though. I'll let you decide if that is a deal breaker or not.
And once again, you're welcome.

Cool. The Newegg PSU calculator came out at 426w. I'm thinking I should get at least a 500w PSU. I'll probably stick with what I have now though, because the PSU comes bundled with the case for $99. For $15 more, I'll probably just stay where I am.
I'll finally be able to play MINECRAFT!!! Lololol

The PSW calculator I used said you needed about 360W.
But whatever, its your computer.

I got 440w with that... Whatever, we're obviously not on the exact same page lol.
Thank you once again for your awesome help! . I'll be getting everything over the summer, and I'll try to get some pictures/info out to you when it's done

Nice setup, but why not go with the AMD Phenom II X4 970 instead of the 965BE? Same price on newegg and it has a higher clock speed.
And also if you wouldn't mind paying $20 more on the GPU, I would get a Geforce 460GTX in a heartbeat rather than a 550ti, its well worth the extra dough.
here's a benchmark comparison between the two.

I'd prefer to get the 965BE because it comes with a heatsink and fan already. the .1 GHz doesn't really matter to me much. However, I might consider the 460 instead... Thanks!
What about this one instead? It looks a little nicer and it's $5 cheaper after rebate!

Go for it, EVGA is definitely better than Gigabyte when it comes to GPUs, they usually have really solid build quality, the best some would say.

I already suggested the 460 on the last page.
EVGA GPUs are ok, but my bedroom PC had an old EVGA 7950GT that fried itself out of nowhere, so I'm not sure if that's the best choice....

Old cards have a tendency to die, lol. EVGA has a very good reputation in the GPU world, I think almost anyone would prefer it over a Gigabyte version, especially if its cheaper.

Cool! And the motherboard will have enough ports to power everything? If I could find a decent PSU that's at least 500w and under my current $50 price, I would be pumped. But idk if I can really go lower on the price for anything that will last...

Yes, your motherboard should work fine with that build, it has all the ports you need.
500w Corsair CX500 80 Plus $50 after rebate, should power your system happily.

But the one I have in my list now comes with the case as a combo for $50... And it's 650w.

When they die, it is usually when they are under heavy load. I was just installing a new sound card driver when it died, nothing else open. That is not heavy load.
EVGA is probably better than Gigabyte for GPUs though, even though Gigabyte's motherboards are awesome and reliable.

Oh, I didn't know that, sounds like a awesome deal at $50.
@fire
Oh yea Gigabyte is great at making motherboards. Have you seen their G1. Sniper? Sickest mobo on the block.

No I had not, but now that I do, It looks pretty awesome. Seems like a worthy competitor of the Asus Crosshair V Formula, even though they don't use the same CPUs.

I've always liked Gigabyte's motherboards. Just... never bought one xD (or any mobo for that matter haha)
