Anyone know a webhost that allows custom software?

I need a company that will allow me to use custom game-hosting software for A game I'm making, with reasonable prices. If anyone knows of one like this, that would be great.

Yes, I know the security problems, but I don't want to put a ton of stress on my internet by running a game server that has to send a ton of data all over.

Ask me what I'm doing, wait an hour than roll a die, if it's 4-6, I'm playing Skyrim, if it's 1, I'm eating, if it's 2-3 I'm programming.

Tig Source if you're planning on closing the source.
and sourceforge if you are planning on hosting free software. (Sourceforge is free, not sure about tigsource...)

I mean like a webhost that you give your own server software to and they host the connections.

Ask me what I'm doing, wait an hour than roll a die, if it's 4-6, I'm playing Skyrim, if it's 1, I'm eating, if it's 2-3 I'm programming.

Ohhh, um Idk then, you should ask LS97 or jvvg then, I think that they are doing something sort of like what you're trying tot do  tongue  But still sourceforge gives you a site too...

You can't run game-servers on web-hosts. You need a VPS/Dedicated Server to do something like that.

Web-hosts are for websites.
VPS/Servers are for websites and any software you want to run on it. (Servers can be used to host websites and game-servers at the same time if you have enough CPU and RAM to support it)

I knew that, but I didn't know the term. Anyone know a VPS hoster then? I also can't run a server myself for bandwidth usage.
