Hey! I can't really be the one to make it because if I ever have to edit it, I won't be able to since I'm a new scratcher. Is it okay if I create a recruiting thread for Team USA-3 though? And then hopefully on of them can? If not I can just make the thread, but I won't be able to edit it.

Oh, I forgot you wouldn't be able to edit it - that's a good idea, yes ! You can do that instead

It would be against the true Olympic spirit if I refused the right for some Scratchers to represent their own country, therefore there is more than one team to represent each country
What is "true Olympic spirit"? No offense but this Scratch Olympics is a mess so far.

Offence taken You do realise that you are the only person who believes that? Please try to at least get your head around change. I accept that some people dislike change from the norm. True Olympic spirit... It speaks for itself. What I meant was that it would be unfair to deny people the right to represent their country, and it's better to let people do so. Why is this a mess? Post constructive criticism, not just hurtful slander. Please respond to my post on the Canada thread. Thanks

All of my criticism is constructive, although you don't appear to want to listen to any of it...
So you're going to keep letting the US and GB make more and more teams? What happens at Team USA 10? Or 20?

No good reason? Please stop attacking me. I am just saying that it looks bad to have 10 Team USAs.

There are only 3... don't exaggerate to get your point across.
This is a scratch competition that is making light of the different nationalities that we have here on scratch, and pairing them up. If there are more people from the USA then there should be more teams from the USA, so as to not exclude anyone who wants to participate while still accurately representing their nationality.
This isn't the actual Olympics, where people have to try out in order to represent their country, this is the Scratch Olympics, where people of all skills and age can come together, represent their country, and get excited about collaborating on projects in a competitive setting.
This is an awesome idea, and GoldRock is doing an incredible job trying to organize and guide this competition. I suggest you give him the credit he deserves, and go along with the flow of this WORLDWIDE collaboration competition, which would obviously be hard for anyone to organize. What's making it harder on GoldRock is people like you who are constantly offering repetitive criticism that no one else wants or agrees with.
Maybe it will help you if you didn't look at the teams as countries, but rather just teams, like in a league. Then you will see that there are about ten teams which makes for an excellent competition. Other than that I would say that it might be best if you just branched off and did your own collaboration competition, because clearly you are missing the whole point of this collaboration.

For God's sake...both of you, stop yapping like 3 year olds. Stor, there will always be haters, let them complain all they want. And Andres-Vander, live and let live, don't waste part of your life complaining about a recreation event that tries to include everyone for fun! Scratch isn't meant to be serious, it's meant to be a place to build and create. Just stop fighting!

Yes, there are only 3 (so far) but that's not fair to the other nationalities. The US has a 3x as big of a chance to win the Olympics than Canada. Why should the US get an advantage because they have more people than Canada? Not to mention that a lot of athletes from the US join other countries to compete in the real Olympics. That's what happens when the US team is full, not another team is created to accommodate extra people. Take a look at the previous Scratch Olympics, and you'll see what I mean. I just think this is in bad taste

If one of them wins, the "US" team would still win though. I just want things to be fair.

I'm a supporter of Nepal, and they aren't in this olympics , but do I complain about it? No. It's not about the winning, it's about taking part and enjoying yourself. Anyone who thinks differently needs to have a long look at themselves and ask 'Am
I that addicted to medals and winning?'. A bad winner is worse than a gracious loser.

I like your nationalism and the sense of pride that you have in your country, but that does not mean that I agree with you on how USA has a 3x chance of winning. I think everyone knows that each individuals nationalities can't be confirmed exactly on Scratch, as everyone is pretty much anonymous and no one knows each other. Therefore I think it is safe to assume that people aren't actually representing a specific country, but rather an idea of a country. However I do think that if one of the three USA teams were to win, it would take away from the overall concept of the USA winning the Scratch Olympics, because as you said they do have more teams. I think that the two other USA teams also won't share in the victory, because they will just competed against each other as much as they are competing against all of the other countries. I also think that your idea of people just picking a random country because theirs is already filled up, is completely contradicting your overall idea of a specific country winning. If I were to choose, say France, and make a Team France, then proceed to win the Scratch Olympics, I wouldn't really be able to say that France won, because I am from the USA. Since I am from the USA, AT LEAST a fifth of that victorious French team would have consisted of people that weren't from France, meaning that France didn't win all-out, it was more a partial victory which would depend on how many people were actually from France that were on the team.
