GLaDOS is Chell's mother. Don't ask me how it could possibly be, but remember how at the end of Portal 2 the turrets sing that song as Chell leaves? Find a translation of that song. It may surprise you.You obviously didn't see my post about busting that theory (it's up the page a bit)
I've figured out what time periods the "Old Aperture" test facilities were from. 1950s, 1970s, and 1980s. That doesn't bode well with my theory. To prove these dates, (I have the pc version) I found while searching around the files in Portal 2 the program that tells the game when Cave Johnson should talk. It clearly says the above dates.
Did u know that the same noise used for when u get hit by a Thermal Discouragement Beam (laser) is the sound effect they us in hl2 for burning headcrabs? Weird, huh? You're just making it complicated. On my Xbox 360 version, in the Old Aperture levels, when you go between the gel testing rooms and you are in a large 'hub', you should see the date printed. 1950 is printed when the giant gate opens too.
Anyway, you know that turret you save from redemption? It's called the Oracle Turret, and it says seemingly randoum phrases. But these phrases aren't as random as you think...
Yeah, I know what the oracle turret is. Th first time I got it, I accidentally dropped it into a bottomless pit b4 I could hear all it had to say. The second time, I heard it all, then in thanks for the info, I sent the turret through an emancipation grille. It didn't come out the other side. I'm so evil.

Best videos ever. They need to make one for GLaDOS.

GLaDOS facts:
the copyright on the GLaDOS software runs until 1997
GLaDOS' name is never said once in both games.
Between her first awakening in Portal 2 and the chapter, "the escape", GLaDOS changes her body and redoes her room.
It took twenty years of hard work and labor for the scientists, and when they activated her, she promptly killed them all with neurotoxin.
the DOS is GLaDOS' body, and the GL is her head.
As you can see, I've taken it upon myself to learn all there is to know about GLaDOS.

GLaDOS Stands for Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System.
She is Chell's mother, Cave's fiance, and also no more than a personality core, meaning that some other personality constructs may also be human personalities, enabling them to take her place.
The entire facility was designed with access to the control areas built for cores on the off chance GLaDOS was put back into a single construct for emergency reasons, but still needed control of the facility to some degree.

Ratmann was the only surviving scientist in the facility, and hid himself from GLaDOS whilst surviving on water and baked beans - a benifactor for his physcaldelic pictures.

I just finished reading the Lab Rat comic (acrually I had already read part of it, and just now finished it). Did anyone else notice the Gravity Gun from hl2 on the counter when Rattman and the other guy are talking about the morality core? Also, the expirement that they talk about (the one with the cat in a box with poison) is called Schrodinger's Cat". There is actually a way to cure neurotoxin like the stuff in puffer fish, but it basically turns you into a zombie. I'm serious. Look it up.

I hate how everyone thinks GLaDOS = Caroline and Caroline = Chell's mother.
First of all: They built a giant computer called GLaDOS. She was insane and in just a sixteenth of a picosecond she would immediately try to kill all of the scientists. By creating personality cores, they could fill her mind with useless information so that there would be a delay in her going on a murderous rampage, but it still didn't work that well. They finally came up with a plan to have Caroline be the AI in GLaDOS by somehow hooking her and GLaDOS up. Caroline resisted at first, and after an argument with Cave relunctently agreed. However, GLaDOS realized what was going on, pushed away the Caroline AI, and, pretending to be Caroline, asked for a ton of nuerotoxin and kittens for "testing".
[Blegh, I gtg,i'll finish this later.]

"Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired."

Hey, does any1 know any cool cheats for Portal(2)? Here are a few (4 Portal 2):
npc_create npc_portal_turret_floor spawns turret
noclip lets you go through walls and fly
thirdperson self-explanatory
firstperson
In Portal:
npc_create npc_(name) spawns stuff.
here are codes you can insert for (name):
headcrab
zombie
fastzombie
poisonzombie
portal_turret_floor
turret_floor
turret_roof
antlion
barnacle
dog
alyx
eli
barney
gman
combine_s
metropolice
note: in order to spawn something, the crosshairs must be pointing at the ground where you want it to spawn.
There are a lot more.
impulse 101 Gives you all guns from hl2
noclip, thirdperson, and firstperson all work as well.
Oh, yeah, and also god, buddha, and notarget.
to turn on cheats, turn on developers console in the settings, then click "~" to open it. Type in sv_cheats and sv_cheats 1 to enable cheats.

Rattman made those crazy pictures becuase he was a szisophrenic. (Did I spell that right?) Since he was hiding from GLaDOS with limited resources, Rattman was off his medication.

I think u can get different codes if u look it up, the Xbox 360 codes use the arrow pad (up down left right etc). I know I've seen some somewhere. Google "Portal (2) Xbox 360 cheats"

I've looked, but there is no obvious developer's console option for the 360. There is one for the PC/Mac version however...

Just press the codes during the game. It'll work.
