Just type the URL of the project and I'll automatically change it for you.

No, Scratchers can link to Scratch pages only on the forums using the [url] and [/url] tags.

In project and gallery comments, you just type the URL. In the forums, you have a bit more capability if you use BBCode. You can do [url]http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/scimonster/2169421[/url], and it will show up as a link: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/scimonster/2169421. Alternatively, you could type [url=http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/scimonster/2169421]Snake Eyes[/url], which would be Snake Eyes.

When you become a scratcher, try [url=http://scratch.mit.edu](link to project)[/url]
Which is:
(link to project)
Which isn't a project, but it is a demonstration of how BBCode works.

No, because new Scratchers can post links to Scratch sites.

On the main site, all you must do to create a link which reads (link to project) is type in the URL of a Scratch project.
In the forums, type out the URL of your Scratch project between [url] tags, like this:
[url] URL of Scratch project [/url]
[url]scratch.mit.edu/projects/Jem12/2484880[/url]
which produces: scratch.mit.edu/projects/Jem12/2484880
Alternatively this:
[url=URL of Scratch project]Name of project[/url]
[url=scratch.mit.edu/projects/Jem12/2484880]Jem News 2[/url]
will produce: Jem News 2
