Re: Links to Member-created Websites

If the fora allows PMing, could it still be approved? There's a plugin which allows Admins to monitor users' inbox and sentbox, and PMing differs from a chatbox anyway in that it's not just for discussing anything, it's used for notifying users about something, etc..

So this is one-way communication from Admins to users?  Like the Notifications that we use on Scratch?  Or is it a private two-directional communication?

Anyone can PM anyone, but users can report misuse of it, and I do check users' PMs from time to time as well, just in case.

Also, does it need to be approved to link to on the main site? I've never actually heard a mod confirm it.

I'm still waiting for answers on your questions - sorry for the delay.

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

Hey, I've worked out some bugs on my forums. I've done my best to make them as safe as possible. The way I am going to handle my community is:
If they make an account and I am not familiar witht the name from Scratch, I'll make them confirm.
Spamming gets you a warning the first 3 times. After that your account is on a 3 day suspension (your email is automatically blocked to prevent from more than one account anyways) you will be brought back. Any offence after that will have your name as Banned(number of person banned, ideally chronological) and all of your posts will be deleted and you won't be allowed to post, and I will change the password so you can't get in. This keeps the email registered so they cannot make a new account.
Any cursing is a warning the first time, then a ban the second time.
Necroposting will just have your post deleted by me or one of the moderators.
Moderating:
Since I am the head of the forums for my modification, Stack, the age to run for Moderator will be 12+, because I am only 12 and anything above that would render me hypocritical. You have to be invited to the status Admin, no requests.
Any pornographic content is against the engine I used to make this's policy, so it will be immediately deleted along with the offender being permanently banned. I will allow signatures at any size and any sort of coding (even flash embedding). However, any bad content will again, be deleted. I have a range of smileys, none inappropriate.
Private messaging is allowed but if you say otherwise I can delete it.
Hope you approve this, because it took me like 10 minutes to type  tongue
EDIT: I hope it's alright to send out mass emails to all the users for new stuff.

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

My website isn't a community, but I do use some scratch projects... There are no accounts or chat features, just one place to comment, and not about a scratch project, about my comics. Here 'tis: http://jesscomix.fre.fr

I seem to see what looks like a chat box in the bottom corner.  hmm
Also, the whole page is in French, so i can't really understand it. It does mention an error 404 though.

The domain has expired.  The hosting company has turned it into an ads page.

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

This procedure has been replaced with a simpler version.  Please read the first post and follow the instructions.  Thanks and Scratch On!
