I think Scratch should have loading bars/saving bars to show how much they have loaded when you first open the project and how much they have saved for when you are saving the project. It would be a lot like the loading bars that we see when you view a project online. It would help for when you have slow saving/loading projects.

Doesn't Scratch already have a loading bar while opening?
And wouldn't this make loading even slower?
No, it does not have a loading bar while opening. If it makes loading even slower, than why do they have that feature on projects online?

Sufficiently large projects, such as Wes64's Spectrum, do have a loading bar when opened.

They do, but they're inaccurate. I opened up mine, it took 2 seconds for it to reach that spot in the loading bar, and it stayed like that for 7 minutes while the projects was loading.

Pretty much all loading bars are like that.

They are loading different things. Maybe the blocks, or reading all the scripts. They don't go at a constant pace. The online player has one because it is retrieving data, not opening a project.

I think that is should show the percent left for loading, not showing an empty bar, have it fly through to near the end, and then do all the loading then. I think it should show how much data it has already gotten, scripts, costumes, sounds, etc...
