Kinda expensive for the feature-set, but it was meant to be a compact for professionals who don't want to drag their SLR every single place they go.

No, the S90, it looks like a compact but shoots like an SLR  tongue

Re: Official Photography Topic

I've got a Panasonic FZ47 Lumix camera.

Hold on, I'll get a link to two of the pictures I've taken with it. I took them both at Descanso Gardens, please forgive me if I didn't get the name right. ^__^ " It's an absolutely gorgeous place! Bubbling rivers and waterfalls, rose gardens, a Japanese garden... they've got lots of different birds, fish, and butterflies... very pretty place. Anyways, back on topic!

Here is the picture I took: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/fireheartocean/2475579

As a general rule, most prime lenses will give you better quality than zoom lenses.

Also, the aperture range seems excellent for the price.

What camera do you have?

Canon has good cameras, but I personally prefer nikon.

For the beginner though, Canon is a good SLR brand.

Well, it really tends to depend on what kind of photography you do.

For example, most nature photographers would prefer Nikon. Portrait photographers would prefer Canon (for the superior skin tones).

Journalists would usually use Canon. Studio photographers would often use Nikon.

It's also personal preference as well, where you like your controls/buttons to be and how you want them to feel, as well as the look and feel of the whole camera.

Ignore whatever cameras I have stated before. I'm getting this one.
I have no idea how I'm ever going to save up for that. I tried it out at the electronics store, and I loved it.

Re: Official Photography Topic

My 11.2 megapixel digital camera is pretty good as long as you have enough light and you hold the camera steady.

Re: Official Photography Topic

What camera& 11.2 megapixels is a bad description.

Also, that's an odd number, usually that have 6.0, 12.1, 18.1, 36.0
