Attention: I am going to build back the previously deleted collaboration Q's and A's topic, that had been stickied, and created by my old account, XenoK_Studios
Welcome to the collaboration Q's and A's! When in a collaboration, you might find yourself asking some questions, or wondering about the unknown, and I've created this guide to help you solve those mysteries. I will try to add at least one once a day! Reply to this topic if you have a suggestion as to what something that could be added.

1. What is my purpose?
SUMMARY
Define your own purpose for creating a collaboration. Ask yourself: why am I creating the collab, and for what do I have in mind to gain from participating in this collab. Know your purpose, and review that purpose every once in a while to refresh your memory for what you hope to accomplish by doing this collaboration. Possibly the most important thing to consider when doing a collab.
PRACTICES
Get out a blank notebook, and a pencil/pen. In that notebook, write down the answers to the following questions:
What is my purpose for making this collab?
Why am I making this collab?
What do I hope to gain from participating in this collab?
When you are done, keep the notebook in a safe place, and review what you have wrote down every once in a while.

2. Should I make a Collab, or join another one?
SUMMARY
Take a moment to consider wether or not you want to make a collab, or join one. This entirely up to you. But, be bold, and make one if you really do so desire! It is also recommended that you have experience from being in a collab, but again, it's up to you.
PRACTICES
JOIN A COLLAB:
To get the feel of collaborations, join one collab, and note how things are run before starting one. To get the idea of how things work, observe how a collaboration is structured, and how the team works together to complete their tasks. Knowing how to get something done will definitely help you.
or...
MAKE A COLLAB:
Try things out. Make a collaboration, and try it out. There's no hurt in trying something new, so why not? It'll give you the experience, and if you get the right people, they'll help you out with things as well.
Completely up to you.

3. Should I have experience from being in a collab before starting one?
SUMMARY
It is recommended that you do have experience from being in a collaboration before starting one. This gives you the general idea on how things work, and what needs to get done in order to accomplish something new. However, no one is going to stop you from making one, if you don't have the experience, but is still highly recommended that you do, so that you get the idea of how collaborations work.
PRACTICES
Since this closely relates to the previous question, go back to the contents, and see the practices for question number two!

4. What Should I name my Collaboration?
SUMMARY
You want to have a name for your collaboration, so pick a good one. Try to find a uni que name, that really stands out. Just naming it some color, and adding the name 'collaboration' to the end doesn't really impress me. That tells me they don't have very much creativity. When naming a collaboration, really put some thought into it. This plays a very important role into how successful your collaboration will be.
PRACTICES
Get back out the notebook from earlier that I asked you to use for question number one. Start brainstorming different names, and see which one you like the best. Also, provide yourself with alternatives in case it is already taken. See how many you can come up with!

Excellent FAQ! Maybe you could add some questions for the later stages.

I like the document structure, with the table of contents linked to the "chapters", each with a return link. That's pretty slick. I'd like to see a bit more detail in some of the suggestions though, maybe with good positive examples of "best practices". Thanks for working on this

5. Should my Collaboration have a website?
SUMMARY
Well, it depends, and it is entirely up to you. If you think that your collaboration is a big enough deal for one, then go for it! If you don't have any experience with making a website, I recommend using weebly and even if you do, many business professionals use weebly as well. Again, this is entirely up to you, and you might want some experience first.
PRACTICES
Pull up weebly, and sign up for an account. Make a website, and under the editors tab, add your collaboration members if you feel comfortable with them helping out. I also recommend planning out your website beforehand. Be sure to run your website through the scratch team on this thread before advertising, just to be safe.
