Pokemon Mystery Dungeon official topic

Everything Pokemon mystery dungeon goes here. Boss guides, recruiting tricks, anything relating to the series.

Primal Dialga (Final boss) trick guide:
First: If you're riolu and know copycat and know at least 1 fighting type move- You  have a TREMENDOUS advantage. Copycat = Roar of time, Fighting type moves= Powered up by your type AND super effective. If you're not riolu, good luck. I was Turtwig first time around. Got defeated at least 30 times until I grew to level 46 and owned it. My recommendation? Level up at Marowak dojo well dusknoir is catching grovyle in chapter 13, get to level 35 there (I know it will take a while) and then you'll be set, your level will be pretty high pre-future, so you'll definitely be prepared for the hidden land, dusknoir and Dialga. That not using the dojo is the reason I failed so epicly first time around on dialga, in fact. I beat the game, pre-ending AND post-ending, so if you are stuck, I'll provide some help. But recently I restarted, so now I'm training for level 50 in Marowak dojo. Which will take forever, but overprepare me, so it's a good plan. (I'm on chapter 13, right before the future, in fact, and level 50 will give me a huge edge, I'm level 29, so 21 levels to go  hmm )

Primal Dialga isn't all that hard if you have dig/brick break, some sleep/petrify seeds, and some long ranged moves.

Yeah, I was a grass type. It has little effect. Grass. Steel = Not very effective, Dragon = Not very effective. My partner knew moves like ancient power. I was the only one getting defeated, in fact. Then I come back to fight normal dialga right after graduation (he has the same moves/stats/IQ skills) and owned him, though. But I WAS level 53. Dialga is level 48

Most of the grass types can learn dig, no? Dig IS super effective.

The catch is that I never got TM dig, only got energy ball. I'm aware dig is super effective, it was the move I used to defeat dialga with in the special episode "In the future of darkness" Well, at least now riolu, a fighting type. My partner is turtwig. Can't stay away from 'dem turtwigs. Anyways, let's not argue about this. Dialga isn't that hard if you aren't a grass type.

Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon official topic

I don't care too much about the bosses and gameplay and such, but I really love the story. The whole dialogue and story is completely moving. Since you do the quiz in the beginning, (I'm about to start sounding really corny right now), you share an "emotional connection" with the bundle of pixels. You kind of share the emotions that the Pokemon does, and you get sad at the sad parts, and you follow the story completely.

As for the Grovyle's Goodbye part...

I shot a super-effective Water Gun through my eyes.

Well, last Monday was the first time I beat the whole game without shedding one tear. Mainly because I knew you'd come back, and that Grovyle lives. Explorers of Sky's 5th special episode shows that Grovyle and all the pokemon of the future live on. Even Dusknoir, who left the dark side in the end and even helps you beat Dialga.

Beating Primal Dialga was easier than I prepared for, too.
Riolu used force palm!
It's super effective!
Dialga took 103 damage!
Dialga was paralyzed!

Then it went back and forth with  me and my partner using Brick Break and SolarBeam.
Beat him in 5 turns.
Used 1 reviver seed.

Basically made it look really easy. Kinda like with Dusknoir.
Then, you get to fight your guildmates... and finally get revenge on Chatot for being so bossy. I targeted Chatot first, in fact. Mostly because his moves are super-effective against me.

Re: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon official topic

So, I beat almost the whole game, but I can't beat the Darkrai part at the very end. I think it's the final boss of post-game. I am around level 70 Pikachu and I have a Squirtle at the same level. Any strategies?

I pounded Darkrai first time around, the Deep Dark Crater part was maddeningly hard, but darkrai was a piece of cake. But I was a different pokemon. Turtwig and Phanpy :>
Now I'm Riolu and Turtwig (I'm Riolu.)
I recommend having squirtle deal with the fire types. If you know thunder bolt, don't hesitate to use it. Defend Creselia, she's the weakest. Then, finish darkrai. Also, immobilize darkrai at the very start and take out the 6 others first. When you defeat the others, move 2-3 squares away, change your teammate's tactics to "Go after foes" (If you were too lazy to do it at the start) and hurl throwing items at Darkrai until it approaches or your partner steps in front of you. If your partner steps in front of you, move next to them. Try and keep Creselia from dealing with Darkrai, it has a major type disadvantage.

Also, right now I'm on Temporal Spire, climbing to recruit and fight Dialga. (Not Primal Dialga) (I wonder what would happen if you could bring a pokemon with illuminate and it survived an attack from Dialga :0 Maybe another Dialga would appear :0 That would be annoying :0) Me and my partner are Level 62.
Also, if you're willing to lose your progress in the dungeon, use this to make missions that yield golden seeds to level up you and your partner. You can also use some on Creselia, if you want.
