Following the success of the Hunger Games movie and book, I am still wondering why there is no game for it. If any company would've made a Hunger Games - the game, they would have earned millions of dollars. Since nobody is planning doing this, I decided to start a collab with other scratchers to make a wonderful Hunger Games game. Welcome to the annual 74 Hunger Games!
And may the odds be ever in your favor.

Top down or 2.5D game?
Play as Katniss or as your own character?

Anyone?

Why does nobody want to work on this with me? The idea has lots of potential.

It's thought for people to just commit to something without much information on it. How about explaining more about what it would look like, the controls, the graphics...etc.

I may work with you!
I'm just wondering what I could do. You can check out my projects and see what I'm good at if you want to. I was thinking that it could be a top-down game with halo like game-modes. (Capture the flag deathmatch etc.)
Keep in mind although I know what it is about from people, I havn't actualy seen the movie or read the book. Perhaps I could work on the multiplayer and you could possibly work on the campain?
Who knows what the final product could be?

That's somewhat more of a team thing to come up with.
This sounds interesting. I LOVE the Hunger Games so I would love to make this!

I just came up with an idea! Maybe someone could come up with an engine, post in online as an "Alpha" or a "Beta" then another person could download that and put their touches on it. (eg. someone creates a campain then I download it and put multiplayer parts on it and post it as the final version) Although if we did that then every person that uploads will have to give credit to the other people working on it.
Perhaps you could have a contest on who could come up with the best engine?

Multiplayer? What? There is no online support by Scratch yet!

I plan to use bits of code for the engine from a wide range of other projects.

Sorry, when I said about multiplayer, I didn't mean online. I ment like two people on the one pc and a bunch of other players who are controlled by computer. You ovioustly aren't that interested in me, which is a bit disapointing for this project does have potential, but tell me if there is anything I can do, like sprites and perhaps even sound.

Sorry about that, it was 11:00 at night when I typed that and I was tired and cranky. In my opinion, I really do not like 2-player games in Scratch. They are really confusing to use, and trying to fit four hands on one keyboard tends to be... uncomfortable. If you are good at something, tell me straight away! I am really happy that there is someone who is eager to work on this with me!

I'll join. if you want I could do both graphics and programming. I just got a bamboo pad and it would be cool to try it out some more. And i guess i am not that bad of a programmer.
P.S. read book 3 times! movie shakes a little to much during violence though.

I'd think you wouldn't want it to be the 74'th because everyone knows about that one, maybe make a game about... say.... the 64'th annual hunger games. That way you wouldn't know the outcome and you can make it yourselves.

Maybe completely by the choice of the player? I was thinking different arena types (desert/mountains/forest/jungle/etc), however that may be impossible due to the 10MB size limit of scratch. We will probably reach that limit because of the size of the arenas. (Around 10x10 miles)

But then they could choose a hunger games that they know the winner of. With the other ones you could make it yourself without changing the entire course of the book.

I actually was making a hunger games game. I'll still upload it when it is finished. I just don't want you guys to say I'm copying you because I got this idea a little after I started Scratch, you can still do this- I'm not mad at you- I just don't want you to think I'm copying
