Does the "one month" rule always apply?

Whenever I see someone ask how to become a scratcher, someone else always answers "be active for at least one month, post in the forums, upload projects."
I get that.
But I've also seen people who've joined, like, a week ago and are already scratchers. They're post count is usually low, and they don't always have tons of projects, although I've seen a handful that do.
So, what's up? Does the one month rule apply in every case?
Just wondering.  smile

Re: Does the "one month" rule always apply?

I was pretty sure that it had to be manually done by the Scratch Team and that there were no strict rules, but posts I've seen have been forcing me to doubt this.  I'm interested in the answer too.

Re: Does the "one month" rule always apply?

Users are upgraded manually by the Scratch Team (or at least I think so), so it doesn't necessarily take one month.

Interesting, I'd always thought that the site itself would do the upgrades all of the time. Thanks, guys!

Re: Does the "one month" rule always apply?

If you see someone whose "Registered" date is less than one month, it's most likely because they did join Scratch more than a month ago, but they just joined the forums recently. The "Registered:" date is the date that you first visited the forums.

Most users are upgraded automatically (not manually), and not many posts are required. But yes, doing normal activities on the Scratch Website such as making projects, commenting on projects, and being a kind member will help you become a Scratcher.  smile
