We’ve reactivated image embedding on the Scratch Forums, and made some changes to the way new images are posted. To embed an image in your post on the Scratch forums, you need to upload your image to one of these image hosts:
tinypic.com
imgur.com
imageshack.us
photobucket.com
Once you’ve uploaded your image, get the url from the image hosting service, and paste it into your post. Then type the bbcode [img] tag at the beginning, and a [/img] tag at the end of the image’s link. Here’s an example:

Questions? Feel free to ask on this thread.
Scratch On!
p.s. You can also embed images that are hosted on these Servers:
modshare
scratchr.org
any .edu domain
wikipedia.org
wikimedia.org
Edit: added more hosts to whitelist.

Awesome!
Do you think there's going to be any system for requesting websites to be added to this "whitelist" of image websites? For example if you make your own Scratch-related website? Because I see that there are some extras such as modshare.tk, scratchr.org, and scratch.mit.edu, and I don't see why others can't be added if someone has a good enough argument to support their request.

Yeah, we can add more sites to the whitelist. But anytime you touch code on production, there's a chance to introduce errors and unforseen problems. So I wouldn't want to be adding stuff very often, but we could add a few more hosts if they have the right policies, and would be really useful for Scratchers. Same goes for established, well used projects similar to modshare, where it's crucial to be able to link images.
However, if it's not too hard to just host the image on one of the already approved hosts, that would probably be easier.

It is not working because there are bold tags in the img tags.
Oh yeah. I thought he was giving an example of how images were back, not how to use them.

That's because that page isn't actually the image, it's got loads of other stuff too. The correct URL is "http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh172/BrokenSiege/Poker_face.png".
