We’ve made some changes to the way reports are handled on the forums. Here’s how it works:
If a post is reported 4 times by different accounts that have Scratcher status, it’ll get temporarily removed. Instead of seeing the post, you’ll see a message explaining the situation. The system will also temporarily block the account that made the post. As soon as the Scratch Team or a mod checks it out, they’ll either restore the post (and unban the account that shared it), or remove it if it’s not ok for Scratch. This is similar to the way flagging of projects works on the main site.
Should you and 3 of your friends report every post if it breaks the community guidelines? Nope, 99.9% of the time, a single report is enough (as is the case with flags on projects). So if you see that a post has already been reported, there’s no need to report it again unless it is really important that it be removed right away.

how do you see how many times it's been reported already?

Awesome! Is there any specific reason why this was implemented, or is it just an upgrade the scratch team thought was necessary?
(first post get)
Edit: NOOOOO!

We're still working on that. For now, just assume that it hasn't been reported unless somebody posts and says they have

Just some extra protection we wanted to put in place before turning images back on.

Okay. I think this is necessary.

So it doesnt mean anything if I flag something? I used to look for posts that werent in the right forum and flag for it to be moved, but I guess it wont matter now

What Paddle said.
But it was long overdue change that needed to be put in. There's always the case where if a moderator isn't on due to some kind of emergency or personal issue, or is handling many reports at once that need to be taken care of. Kind of like how flagging works on the main site, it gives some sense of extra protection just for those possible worst-case scenarios.

I saw this before it was announced here, but it looks like you removed the censor.
Very efficient and smart way of dealing with it, I hope people don't abuse it.

Yeah, you should still flag something if it needs a mod's attention, this is just saying that if four separate Scratchers report the same post, it gets temporarily (or maybe not) removed.

Please, keep doing that! It's helps a lot to keep things organized. However, if you know that it's already been reported, there's no need to report it again - unless it's an emergency.
This is just using that same reporting system to help handle emergencies when the mods aren't around and some troll comes and posts something rude.

Wait, what if a bunch of people are reporting a topic to be moved? Or if an old topic in Misc. needs to be re-opened, and a lot of people want it to show up? The person would be banned for no reason.

So - it's really really rare that 4 Scratchers all report the same topic before a mod actually sees and processes the report. (That's why it's set to 4). But if this does happen too much, we can increase the threshold to 5. But we don't anticipate this happening often at all - and even if it does, it'll just be a temporary block.

I just have a fear of being banned, even temporarily. 0_0''

This may be a stupid question, but by temporary block do you mean temporary until at least a mod can review the case, or temporary even if no mod has gotten online yet?

Well, if no mods get online for 12 hours, then we'll likely have some serious problems.
But yeah, when a mod gets on and sees someone got autobanned, they should make sure that it was for a good reason, and reverse it if it wasn't.

Good idea.
