im looking for a game

I like simulations where you can build a civilization and lead it through different eras and you get to play as God. Are there any nline games like this I can play where the decisions i make affects the culture. For example if I make a culture set in a firest, the people end up living in treehouses, or if the culture has a history of war and immigration, then there would be lots of ethnicities and racial tensions.

Anyone know of any online games like this?

Re: im looking for a game

There's Spore, and you can evolve the creature from a cell to a space civilization.

And yes, the way you evolve your creature does affect the future of the species.

It's not exactly online, though, unless you have a Sporepedia account.
And then at that point, you can get some pretty vile stuff from there.
I once got an Epic Swastika on one of my planets in Creature Stage.
I flagged it, though and it got removed from my Sporepedia.
But still.....

(an Epic is just a creature that's oversized - you can kill them in Tribal stage. Which I did with a different inappropriate creature I got before I remembered you can flag it.)

It's alright I guess. Overrated, IMO.

try my advert thread! scroll down to design games or the tycoon games and you'll find some! You'll also notice a link on the top of the page leading to a 3D simcity collaboration. perhaps you might want to get involved? http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=79185

Re: im looking for a game

I'll have to ask my friend for it, but he knows of one that almost exactly fits the bill.

Re: im looking for a game

I only really know of Civilization Revolution for PS3 or iPhone/iPod, but I don't know if you can play it on your PC.

CivRev is where you choose a civilization (Romans, English, Arabians, Americans etc.) and start off in the year 3500BC (I think) and build your civilization by exploring, battling other civs and building your cities. You learn technlogy to get better warriors, better people and to get more gold. There are 4 ways you can win, a Domination victory (defeat every other civ by the year 2100), Economic victory (getting 20,000 gold and building the World Bank by the year 2100), Cultural Victory (getting 20 culture points and building the United Nations by the year 2100) and a Technological victory (building a space ship and sending it to Alpha Centurai before the year 2100). It's a really good game  big_smile

Spore.  You need to buy it but it's completely worth it and pretty much fits what you're looking for.  I know it's been suggested before but I just felt like re-suggesting it.  tongue
