Good Place To Learn Basic Programming Codes Etc...

So my brother really likes programming, but he doesn't use scratch. Instead he uses JavaScript, and once he kept bugging me to go on this website called "Code Academy" I'm not sure you have heard of it, but it's quite good for newbies to learn basic programming skills and I just thought I'd share with you infomation about learning to program, because some people do know how to program, whilst others do not. You can go here to look at it: http://www.codecademy.com/

If you have already checked it or used it please tell me what you think  wink  OR -
If you just checked it out, please tell me what you think  wink

If you want to learn HTML and JS, I would recommend http://w3schools.com.

I think it's great your brother is learning JavaScript!  I would recommend w3schoools as well, but if codeacademy works, that's great!

If you're interested in building applications that compile to .exe's for Windows computers (rather than the web), I would suggest checking out C#.  If you know a language already, it's really easy to pick up.  C# is written by Microsoft.  They have a decent number of tutorials on the website, along with free compiler software.

IDE and Compiler - Visual C# Express (free)
Reference guide for C#

There's also a Microsoft extension specifically for making games.
