I agree. It should be open for a full 24 hours. That also means it can end at a normal time for me (6PM instead of AM).

That would be nice...what if someone can't access their computer for a day and that day happens to be the day of the elections?

They're supposed to be short so that there isn't as much time for things to get drastic, but it does seem like a critically short time (I wouldn't have been able to vote if I hadn't been able to get on the computer early).
