"Find" Feature

I think it would be cool if there was a "Find" feature in Scratch. When what you're coding is very complex it becomes really difficult to find a specific block you have to change. I propose a search tab. You could build the block in the search tab and then it would find it in the code.

Random Simple Example:

I need to change the script "Broadcast 'Go forward'" to "Broadcast 'Go backward'". However, "Broadcast 'Go forward'" could be anywhere, due to the roundabout way to make a cool feature work. I have 15 Sprites which all have at least 15 scripts each. I could go through each one individually, but that would take a lot of time. And eventually I would become discouraged, especially if I missed it somewhere. A "Find" feature would be helpful here.
*end example*

I just came back to a project after a long time. I'm trying to figure out how my program works again. I can't seem to find the broadcasts I'm looking for (I use Broadcast for a lot of things). I think "Find" would make programming just a little bit faster.  smile

On an unrelated note, I keep typing "Broadcast" as "Broadcats". XD

Re: "Find" Feature

I agree, a find feature would be very useful. A find & replace would be even better. But there can be unexpected consequences when someone does that.  tongue

Re: "Find" Feature

There could be an option to replace inside the Find tab.  tongue  That could be helpful too.  smile

I think this thread is a duplicate of this.

Re: "Find" Feature

Haha, this is just a better-worded version of a suggestion I made when I was total noob here.  tongue  (I ain't gonna go digging for it 'cause this one's much better-worded and I don't think my one got any replies anyway  tongue ).

Anyway, I support.

EDIT: Thought I'd find it, just so you can laugh at how noobish I was back then. :3

Re: "Find" Feature

OK.  smile  But I guess I'm just bringing it up again, since I don't think they got a good answer from the Scratch team.  tongue

lol It's alright, mine sound like that sometimes. XD I'm bad at explaining things, I don't know how I managed to clearly explain my suggestion. XD
