OrcaCat seems to have a lot of projects online already, which otherwise indicates that the user is more likely new to the forums but not necessarily new to the website.
I think if OrcaCat explained more to the Scratch Team about the project he/she wants to display on the front page, then he/she might have a good chance of being picked.Yeah, after a nosy look at OrcaCat's projects, I think the same
Yay cheddargirl!!Yeah, I forgot to say what I would curate. My favorites are: Random Blue Planet Creator, starfox 3d, and air to air missile defense. Random Blue Planet Creator is awesome, just I want someone to make it into a game, but I don't have enough time. Starfox 3d is totally awesome, but it has very few views, so I think it should be shown on the Scratch home page. Air to air missile defense has really cool graphics, but it is kinda pointless, so I tried to turn it into a game, but I wasn't good enough. I would like a more experienced Scratcher to turn it into a game.
And I'm now a Scratcher, not a new Scratcher.

I would like to apply for a curator. I quit scratch about 7 months ago and have been mainly inactive on the website. Recently I have rejoined and are becoming active again. Ialways have a little buzz when I find an amazing project by an unknown scratcher. I advertise it and more than often that scratcher becomes pretty famous eg. Fulldroid, Yillie and Hotwire. I mainly specialise in games so I enjoy surfing the scratch website looking from link to link to find an amazing project. One example I found that has next to none views is ninja enjine : a project made by collabtest simulating a scrolling engine played as a ninjs (wall jump, ceiling hang) http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/collabtest/2006496
This is good because it has brilliant programming skills shown and is in my opinion frankly better than quite a few projects on the scratch website at the moment. It shows great programming skills.
This is why I should be scratch curator

Hey, Aqua.
You probably should post more about what kind of games you would curate and such. This is will help you get chosen.

My 5000000000 attempt to be curator.
Hello all! My name is angelica101, and I'd like to talk to you about being curator. Ever since I was new, and it's been my dream ever since. I already have a list of projects to curate. How long they will be on the front page depends on how good they are. I am looking for scrollers and platformers, maybe a cool movie or legomation. So yes, I have the whole plot planned out.
Thanks for your time,
Angie

Don't you just feel like you want to do more than just pressing that love-it button, or posting a comment? You've found something really good and you want something or someone to see and get prasied for it, and you realise you can't. Ever since I've started scratch I wanted to help others who have never been featured/frontpaged, and would really appreciate what you have done for them. Scratchers with great and fantastic projects should be known, and that is why I want to do this job. Curating would be a dream come true, because helping others who are not known to be known is actually really important, and I want to help do just that. Even if I do not become a curator, I will still try to find a way to help less-known scratchers and projects.

My speech for when I become a scratcher. I really want to this job so I done it early...

If you make some projects the wait till becoming a Scratcher will shorten.
Also, posting in the forums frequently helps.

I don't know if this is the 2nd or 3rd time of me asking to do this, but..
I would really like the job of curating awesome projects! I have seen so many projects that deserve views that are barely seen! I know, this speech may be short and simple but I would love the job in improving the scratch community and making undeserved projects have a lot of views.

I would like to apply for curator. Since 2011, I have had the Scratch program. I've seen the Scratch community change over time. I know what it takes to be a curator. I would curate simple, fun games, 3D models, and SDS gallery projects. I would like to be curator not because of fame, but because of what the Scratch community has given to me, and now it's time to give back.

In fact I've been using scratch program since 2009 at a summer camp. I just started in october 2011 on the site.

Hello! You're probably not looking for curator right now, because all of the Collab camp stuff... But anyway, I'd like to be curator. (I bet you've heard that a million times XD) If I were to be curator (which would be SUPER awesome!) I would pick creative projects. Something that you don't usually expect. I love creativity and think it's very important. Mythical creatures would be creative, too. Also, it would depend on how well made it is...Like if it's an AMV(animated music video), it could have good timing. I like projects with no glitches. So, please pick me to be curator! I have had a Scratch account for 8 months, but I have been making projects for three years. Some people have AMAZING projects, and AMAZING drawings and well made projects, but they only get 6-15 views. So, thank you for taking your time to reading this.

A mod leaves a comment on one of your projects asking if you still want to be curator. If you say yes, than you get to be one. xD
