The author of Tintin was Belgian, not French.

Has anyone seen the animated series from the 90's? I've seen a few episodes and plan on watching the rest on Netflix, and the series is actually pretty good.

I had read the books in French in fifth grade when we had to do a half hour of reading before class started because those were the only moderately interesting books we had on the bookshelf
Our teacher also did a writing test about Tintin

OMG that part when Captain set fire to the boat was crazy my heart started beating so fast. But I loved the part where the dog ate the whiskey!

Yeah I know but weird at the same time that captain was such analcoholic! Like he didn't realise that the boat was wooden and then on top of that he poured whiskey into the fire the BOOM!! It all went up!

I read a couple of the comics and I gotta say, they were really well done.
The movie was also top-notch, considering what quality of movies are coming out these days. I loved the boat scene!
Tintin: What are you doing??!!
Captain Haddock: Oh I thought you might want to warm up. You looked a bit cold.
Tintin: IN A BOAT??!!
Captain: Well yeah, I used our oars for fire. There wasn't anything else I could find.
Tintin: You used our oars??
*Captain droppes whiskey into fire*
*Boom*
Tintin: Well this is a another fine mess you've got us into.

My heart was in my mouth (figure of speech) when Tintin was slowly sliding unconscious into the plane blades.

I'm pretty sure it's an actual scene in the book

I think this is how the boat scene goes:
Tintin: Huh?
Haddock: Just thought I'd start a wee fire to warm up.
Tintin: With our oars?
Haddock: I couldn't find anything else laddy.
Tintin: But it's in a boat! Help me get sea water now!
Haddock: Ok, *pours whiskey*
Tintin: No - *explosion*
Tintin: Another fine mess you got us into.
