Don't have any good ideas?

This is a tutorial on how to get good ideas for projects. I hope you like it!

Starting to think...
When you are thinking of project ideas, you might want to think about what you like to do. For example, if you like mini-golf, you might want to make a mini-golf based project. Next you need to get a little bit more exact. Should it be a game of mini-golf? An animation where somebody gets a hole-in-one, but after about 5 seconds the ball pops back out? You need to know if it should be a game, animation, etc. Now you have the basic idea!

Building on the structure
Now that you have an idea, you need to build on it. One great way to do it is to think of your favorite games. What do they have in common? If they have common controls, maybe you want to have those controls too. If they are all scrollers, make yours one too(here's a good scrolling tutorial)!

Adding the final touches
Now that you have it close to done, it's time to add the final touches to your idea. Now you don't have much help from other games. You have to use your imagination! (I know! It's so crazy that you might have to think!) What would make your game extra cool? Maybe you could make a river run though your mini-golf course. Maybe pac-man could grow a mustache. Maybe the game over screen shows the sun falling out of the sky. It's up to you!

If you have some extra tips just tell me. I will put other people's tips below:

When thinking up a game, think original, not something that others have made. A non-example of this is: Tic-Tac-Toe, Paint Editor, etc.

This should go in Project Ideas... Requesting to be moved.
I have a tip: When thinking up a game, think original, not something that others have made. A non-example of this is: Tic-Tac-Toe, Paint Editor, etc.

Good idea! And also, I think I must have been half-asleep when I decided where to put this.
