You are tired of all thoses OS clichés right? Well "eTap" is not one of them! Basically it is an Operating System, only it has a very different system to the other OS'. What makes it different is the layout, activities etc.. Basically it is an improved version of an OS. Loads of OS' are getting popular on Scratch, but I wanted eTap to be different to the rest. I feel that Os Projects are just so over-used and I felt it was my duty to create something that is like an OS but unique. There will be a few updates and screenshots of what is happening so far, "eTap" is one of my major scratch projects I'm working on. I have looked at many projects such as thevPhone 1.0 and so much more projects. I am working on these very important key features -
• Fantastic Graphics
• Realistic Sound Effects
• Good Quality Activites - "Internet", "Games" etc... -
• Working email and messaging services (Where you can actually send messages off)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will keep you updated, and if you would like to subscribe to notifications, please psot a comment saying you would. Thank You.

I like the idea of inventing a "new and other generation of os"

Are you going to use mesh to do messaging/email?

question, what makes it different from any other OS?
Many people cannot send or recirve messages when they create an OS but hopefully in the eTap this will be possible.
Hmm, this seems a lot like our idea...

I hate to be the wasp at your picnic but there's a reason why the above 3 points are impossible on scratch (at the moment).
-Fantastic graphics are impossible because Scratch pixelates things.
-The internet cannot be made in Scratch- it's an offline thing.
-Mesh makes Scratch have online functions, but it can only send and recieve broadcasts etc. Scratch also has no memory, which e-mails need.
In 2.0, Scratch will have vector graphics, but if you want to make an OS this good I'm afraid you're going to have to learn another programming language.

well,it is possible since scratch can import mesh I think and can take python, do you know how to program with python? harder then scratch
I have had experience with Python It is a little harder than scratch, and if you want something more easier than I'd try Stencyl. By the way, I am Geekish I made this account for my brother but he didn't want it so this just goes on my list of alternatives...

stencyl basically is scratch. both block programs. python is a lot better, efficient and harder then any block programs. by blocks I mean a java script is just turned into a single scratch block, like the hide block as an example. anyway, making an email doesn't make it any less of a cliche then all those other 0S, sure, that would be a new thing. but still, OS is OS. maybe if it was just an email system. scratchmail

Mmm, I agree. You do have a point, you see many OS' email/mail systems and internet explorers are not interactive. And it's never been done before.Python [i] is [i/] a lot better, but I use Scratch because it's quite simple.
