One thing that has occurred is that lots of people (including myself) have been making project indexes, but the thing that worried me is that they're making them on OTHER SITES. This shows that the current project searching system is THAT BAD, people are finding it easier to go to other sites and look there.
I would be perfectly happy to close my advert thread if scratch team prove themselves of making a better search system.
And as for you, the reader, vote for this change to happen! I am not trying to ban these other sites or even indexes (since I made one myself) but what I am trying to do is make scratch more efficient, and if you like my idea it could be used for Scratch 2.0. What I'm trying to avoid is desperate sites trying to advertise their indexes everywhere (It happened to me and I totally regret it) but if we continue like this, no one will use scratch to look at projects except for front page, now how many projects will get ignored if that happened?
Have any ideas? Post here. And, if ST think so, whilst I don't think this is anywhere near sticky-worthy, perhaps this is iTopic worthy.
Thank-you.

It'd be cool if they revamped the whole project search thingy with 2.0 yeah...

I agree! I don't feel that it's driving Scratchers away, but it's certainly making it hard for new talents to appear. Not to mention I find it difficult to find my favourite projects again

There was a project search page, the issue is that it places a pretty huge tax on the server and can slow Scratch down if a lot if people use it at the same time (that's kind of pretty much why Scratch is piggybacking off the custom Google search function).
Now before anyone continues to scream that the Google search function is purely awful: Did you try the tips in this thread yet?
