Re: . . . A Better Design for Scratch 2.0 . . .

This is a *wonderful* design!

Honestly, I might Scratch more just to look at this.  smile

Edit: Looked at it a little closer and I don't like the dropdown idea for the block categories. 8 separate buttons are fine...

I have to say, your mock-up looks very nice. I'm not sure which I like better.

Kind of unnecessary how everything is flipped, don't you think?

There were some benefits of the change that have been mentioned before. For example, since the project page on the website has the project on the left, when you click "look inside", the transition to the scripting area would be much smoother, as the stage stays on the left.  smile

Yep! That's actually the main reason. If you were to put the project to the right of the project page -- well, it'd be a little weird, dontcha think?

No.

That's how it is in the current build, project on the right, and I think it is better than the layout you currently have for 2.0.

Besides, with experience from the flash online editor, it feels a bit weird as if I am shoved into this tiny edge. If drag too far or whatever there's a barrier.

I'm glad to think that the community will always be kind and helpful, the language will always be a fun and easy way to be introduced into programming, the motto will always be: Imagine, Program, Share - Nomolos
