My parents can be strict. I'm 12 (one year from being able to run), but my parents think its too big of a responsibility for someone under the age of 18.
Edit: Yeah, I know. It's confusing.Oh, I see.
My parents don't even know I post here, so it'd be a bit of a surprise if I asked them if I could be a mod :pHeh. How old are you anyways? (You dont need to answer that question if you don't want to) I thought you actually were older than me!
I'm twelve, thirteen in July. :3

How many moderators are there at the moment?
actually, that's inaccurate. There's only two.
Yes. There are 2 FORUM moderators and 2 scratch team members that moderate.

Lol.
I think the "sooo maturity" started around the time misc. was being closed.
Edit: I think this conversation is starting to stroll offtopic.

MyRedNeptune, JSO, Harakou, Coolstuff - Community Moderators
Paddle2See, cheddargirl - Scratch Team that also moderate
MyRedNeptune and JSO are forum moderators though.

Technically, but their rank is Community Moderator.
Though I see where you're coming from. :3

Will there be another election in June?

It's unlikely. They wouldn't have another election so soon I don't think.

My parents would probably give me permission, but with my job, and school, I don't think I would be able to handle it. Though it would be pretty cool.
Also, I might choose to go to MIT, so yeah...

Yeah, probably best not to commit if you are not truly able to help out in the position.

CM elections are usually done in 4 month cycles - which means the next elections would likely be in August assuming more mods are needed.

Ah, that reminds me of a previous election where a candidate signed up but then dropped put at the last minute because of fear of not having enough time to moderate.
@anyone wanting to sign up: Moderation is a volunteer service - we know you guys want to help, but it's no good if you burn yourself out in the process. Best to make sure that you have the time to do some moderation before putting up your nominations.

How are parents contacted (to give/not give consent) if an email was not given when we signed up?
I was under the impression they called your phone.
And I'm seriously debating throwing my hat in the ring, but I don't think I'm ready yet. Might do it in August if it happens. And good luck to all that do run and I can't wait to see who all the nominees are so I can pick one to back

If you are one of the people that are being voted on, are you allowed to vote for yourself?

You were supposed to enter your parent/guardian's email address upon registering, but I doubt many people do.yes i did! i just forgot i did, but now it's coming back to me. thanks! you should be one!!! just skip a birthday or two and be a mod!
Hahaha no. Firstly, it'd be way too much pressure, secondly, my parents would never allow it, and thirdly, I get the feeling some of the ST hate me...
Why would they hate you? I,v never seen or heard of you being the least bit inappropriate.

I'm not sure if I should run or not. Some people say I'm helpful on Scratch, but I don't post *that* much on the forums (well, it varies). I already have plenty of work to do on the Scratch Wiki, as I am a bureaucrat. I'm somewhat well-known, and I've gotten quite a few front paged projects. But I have my doubts whether I would win or not. After all, there are plenty of ways I can still help the community without necessarily being a moderator. I'll have to think about it...

I'm pretty sure you can vote for yourself, since everyone can vote. I doubt the Scratch Team prevents the candidates from voting or doesn't allow them to choose themselves. I believe I've heard of candidates in the past that have decided to vote for others out of good spirit, for example.

If you think you'd be the best moderator, then vote for yourself.
My teacher said that before the Student Body President elections (except she said "president" instead of "moderator")
