Hey New Scratchers!
I used to be a new scratcher... and it was a little bit weird... you had like two sides of scratch. The New Scratchers, and The Epic Scratchers. And When you are a new scratcher you desperately want to be famous, and to be epic. But this takes time, and you shouldn't think about being famous. So here are my tips on how to develop your skills, etc...
1. Explore how things are done, look at a really amazing project, and let your curiosity take over! I used to dwonload projects, and look at the scripts to see how a certain thing was done. It's really useful, and you can pick up a few tricks!
2. Join or Start a collaboration. Even if you aren't very good at programming yet I recomened you to start a collab, that way you can SEE how they are done.
3. Be friendly. Be friendly to new scratchers, and get involved in the forums, and create good projects. If you project is good, you are more likely to get a lot of love-it's and views. But like I said - fame isn't everything, being a talented programmer is
How My Programming Has Improved
When I first started, I was very unfamilar of programming. I couldn't program for toffee! I posted on the 'New Scratcher' forum, and everyone welcomed me in nicely, and helped me out. If I was troubled or confused they would help me, then I created my own "studio", inspired by DIY, once my programming skills got better from, investigating projects and helping and welcoming others, snd being active. I am now deciding to create my own Scratch Band, called "La Musica" Scratch has a mine of supportive people, and everything to help you get started and to become one of those "Epic Scratchers" Even though some of them still struggle now! So your not a lone, there are hundreds of people like you on Scratch. And the epic scratchers were once like you too! One last, and most important tip! PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!
