sdk

Hi all.
Anyone have any idea if there are plans to release an SDK to develop nodes that support other hardware / sensors (other than the ubercool scratchboard)?

Re: sdk

I don't believe there are plans to develop an SDK but you can easily connect other sensors via the resistor sensor.

Re: sdk

SDK = software development kit

It's an acronym used by programmers to refer to a bunch of files and tools that help programmers develop software. In a way, Scratch is an SDK.

Re: sdk

We developed a system called the Home Heartbeat with Eaton...
http://www.homeheartbeat.com/

"With the Home Heartbeat™ system- easy-to-install wireless sensors check the pulse of your home. No technicians, no codes, no third party monitoring or complex manuals are required.

Just use the included keychain-sized controller (or even your cell phone) to see the current status of your house at a glance--whether you're at home or away from home"

...and would love to create a widget for them so people can play with them using scratch.

It would be great to have a sensor block like the one you already have (or just to add some sensors to the existing block) so it can be hooked up through USB - rather than backhacking it through the resistor sensor...

any suggestions?

Its for fun and hackiness

Re: sdk

I agree that it would be very nice to have an SDK.  USB chips and hobbyist boards are cheap enough now that I'd consider trying to hack together an interface to stepper motors or Lego robotics, but I don't have the time to do a lot of development or reverse engineering.
