I've built the shooting engine guys, waiting for someone to supply the laser sprite!
I'm ready for another assignment.
Edit: I believe I've worked out a very simple system of gravity.
heres a sort of description:
The planet goes to the desired scrollX/scrolY (of course.)
if the distance to the player is less than 400 (or whatever you want. You can even take this out to always move towards all the objets.)
then we point towards the players ship and change scrollX by the sin of its direction, as well as changing scrollY by the cos of the direction.
I have tested this in my own project, and it works quite smoothly, and almost identically to our current one, except there now isn't a HUGE script in the playership area...
I'll check on your laser engine. The problem with that mode of gravity is that then we need to give it to all of our stars. I'm going to let bobbybee try to simplify the current script, and as a last minute resort I have a system that will shorten the equation but possibly slow down the game.

lukanater- you need to upload the shooting engine to Dropbox. Put it in "Drafts and Game Fragments," and name it DRAFT 2.19. Also put a comment on the stage stating that you added a shooting engine.

alright, let me just run some last minute tests.
Edit: The whole pony thing is an April fools joke. Ponies are actually a popular april fools thing among game building communities, three of the other ones I'm in have done something similar in the past.
Also I uploaded the shooting system.
Edit2: Also you mentioned that an issue was that we would have to give it to all our stars? Why is that an issue, this makes it easier to give it to all our stars, the code actually goes into each individual star, so we don't need a huge script in the players sprite and it get spread out among all the stars.

I knew it was a joke, I wanted to see how many of us had caught on.
I will check your shooting engine.
And keeping gravity the way it is saves us having to duplicate the script 20 times. Besides, I know how to simplify the engine, I'm just afraid it might slow things down.

I changed one block in the laser, and that's all. I removed the "Go to front" block, so that it wouldn't be in front of the border. Now, bobbybee, you can try to simplify the equation in the gravity script. If you can't simplify it down to a manageable level or don't want this job, let me know and I'll try my way, even though it will probably slow down the game. If you succeed, let me change the scripts. Just leave a copy of your equation there and I'll do the rest.

I also now a way to get the scrolling background sprites 4 times bigger if we need to and it's not too late.
As soon as I hear back from bobbybee, can you do that?

Okay guys, oasdv and coolhogs have requested to join TeamElite!
We currently have zero spots left. I honestly don't think any one of these scratchers could truly help us with our project, so none of them get my vote. Tell me what you guys think.
Here are the current voting resluts:
oasdv - Y:0, N:5 (Current Member Status: Didn't Get In; Not Enough Votes)
coolhogs - Y:0, N:5 (Current Member Status: Didn't Get In; Not Enough Votes)

Nothing against either of them, but I honestly think we have loads of people already doing nothing and that we don't need any new people.
I agree.
I do not vote for either of them.
Agreed.

You can try to simplify the gravity scripts, or try slowing the background? Either way, go ahead; both need to get done.

What. Do. You. Want. Me. To. Do?
Do you want to try implementing the shop? You can get into the queue. Since we have to take these things one at a time, it'll be awhile though. First bobbybee has to try fixing gravity, if he can't get it I'll go in and try for the third time, then I haven't heard back from CheeseMunchy about the scrolling background.

Ok. Can you give me a link to the current version?

Ya I guess it could, but I'll have to delete the scrolling sprites and start over.
Do you still want the same amount of scrolling sprites there were?
btw: sorry I have posted in a while, I didn't see that there was a new page so I was just refreshing it over and over.
