Looking good! Might want to fix the Arrow key Glitch when you press Up and Right or Vise versa. Thats easy to fix, and you might want to fix the costumes going too fast(online), look at my engine again if you dont feels like writing code again  tongue

That is something that will take like 10 minutes to fix and I don't feel like its that important at the moment so its staying in for the time being.

Just heard from a reliable source who went to scratch day at MIT that Scratch 2.0 will have some wicked new features that can greatly improve the chance of success for this project. It should come out sometime this summer.

Features mentioned: Cloning (proper tile maps very likely to be possible)
Build you own blocks (AKA functions, like a real language!)

Features I really hope are there:
Tables (AKA multidimentional arrays)
the rest of the missing math functions
Stop lagging the editor when blocks build up
saving!
others that elude me right now

Regardless of what happens, this is getting recoded when v2 is here

I thought the Build your own blocks feature was revealed some time ago.

But cloning looks really nice.
Stopping the lag will be really useful also, that's one of the major reasons why I stop working on something.

Yeah, also if they put in everything it needs the code will shrink by like 50% and it will run quickly.

It kind of pains me to say this but this is getting put on hold til v2, which shouldn't be too long. I know that most people have forgotten about this anyways but the features in v2 should make it so that a single person would be able to do what it took 3 before.

Right now there are worrying lag issues and overly long code. The upgrade to v2 would make the code dramatically more efficient and when v2 comes out I would have to rewrite all the code anyways.

Right now I have a job and summer classes so I don't have a ton of time for this.

Ok, in any case, the program will need to be remade when v2 comes out. So you can work on this a bit more if you want and I can give you instructions and help a bit. Or you can wait for v2 to come out and perhaps learn AS3 and make an RPG in that, I can send you some links if you need.

I'm not sure if it's already been done or not, but I just recently created a Pokemon battle system that might work for the game.  I'm not sure if it's what you want, but you can use it if you'd like.

Ummm, is there anything specific that you want to do with this?

Like the only things that is holding us back with the current version of scratch are mult-dimentional arrays, sprite cloning, and functions. Only the code for the moving maps would be completely diffrent in v2, the rest more be more efficient but similar.

Sorry about the somewhat late post.
Right now, I have a bunch of summer homework stuff to do, so I probably won't be able to work for that much right now.

Overall, most of the basic stuff of the battle system is complete. There are attacking moves, stat-raising and lowering moves, status changing moves, multi-hit moves, attacks that can inflict status effects, and OHKO moves. The only thing missing is attacks that can lower stats, and other unique moves.

I'd rather work on stuff like movesets when v2 comes out, as it's near impossible to work on that now without multi-dimensional arrays.

The only other things to do is to add more pokemon and change the interface to resemble more like an actual pokemon game, but I think it's probably better to do that after the battle system is finished.

I guess I'll just work on finishing attacks that lower and raise stats for now.

Hey so this forum is like 5 months old but u guys should keep working on this. i would like to offer my skills to help you.

I am advanced in ripping pokemon games. i can get u all the sprites and tiles and everything else. tomarrow i will release a project with a bunch of sprites.
