For me, it works for sprite costumes, but not for stage backgrounds. The picture I drag in shows up in the backgrounds tab, but not on the actual stage. This is in Firefox and Chrome; in Safari I can't (documented bug) drag in from the desktop at all.

glad it works for you now, Xavier! You should also now be able to use the rotation center setting in the costume editor.
1 - Rotation settings works correctly.
2 - Reloading of an application with costumes does not work. All costumes are lost.
3 - Please find and application with Costumes at :
http://www.xleroy.net/ByobTuto/New/Thumbnails.html
First page has a "download" allowing to download the costumes used in "Charac" application.

@Jens & bharvey
Concerning "custom blocks" I don't know what you have decided. I wonder if the distinction between global and local could not been made in the following way : a global block is defined by a "made a block" created only from the palette area, whereas a "local" is defined from the local sprite script area. A global custom block can be changed only from the palette area and its change is "propagated" to all calls by any sprite. The opposite way for a local . If needed this local block can be called by an other sprite using a combination of a method variable "foo" + "foo" OF "local sprite".

Hi Pilou,
the compiler error "1" is the only error code there is, and all it says it that it didn't succeed. This often happens when there are apostrophes or accented characters in a Windows pathname, e.g. when you're running the compiler from the Windows desktop or when the source project is located either on the desktop or in your Documents folder. In this case you can try moving them into another folder on your harddrive before compiling them.
Good luck!

Ps Does exit recent version of Byob that we can download ?
3.1.1 is the latest, and will be the last version of that code base. New development is heading toward Snap! 4.0 which is implemented in Javascript and runs in a browser window.

@Jen : Thx for compiler's explanation
Not yet found the problem , that gives me some times for learn Byob
Just a little question : seems costume (said a rectangle "Sprite") with color of the last line of the color palette (Black to White) can't be changed by ChangeColor or Setcolor!
Works fine when the rectangle has any other colors of the palette's lines!
Does this normal ?

(1) To extend the range of programming techniques available to the Scratch programmer.
(2) To teach computer science to high school and college students.
(3) To keep Jens out of mischief.
(4) To pass on the ideas of Lisp and functional programming to the next generation.

that's normal with scratch, and byob is based off scratch. Colour effect changes everything except black, white and all greyscale colours in between.
