I've been trying to use my microphone and record, but it isn't working.

My computer is a Windows Vista and the computer is made by emachines (Not sure if that helps tongue ) I've tried recording with sound recorder, but it doesn't work, and neither does the Windows Movie Maker Recorder. I usually don't have this problem, I've recorded PLENTY of sound with this mic,but I'm not sure what wrong with it. It works perfectly through Skype on another computer. The other computer is also a Windows Vista. The microphone is a: Logitech

Well if it's not working on any sound recording program, it could be that your recording audio channel is set to something other than your mic. Have you checked that in your audio devices properties? (If not, do you know you do access that?)

Okay, well those settings that you were looking at were just the volume levels of the mics, not if they're actually being used. Your second one is currently set as the default, so that's what will be used when you try to record something. Try setting the other one to default and see if that works.

Is it possible that the input volume is simply too low for you to hear it? I noticed in your project that the first one has its volume to about half; could you try adjusting both the microphone and boost levels so that they're at maximum levels?
