A solution to the IMG tags

I think I might have a solution to the banned IMGs. I posted this on the topic in Announcments:
Watch the current activeness of spam and see if the rates go up or down over the past month year ect. If they go up then wait abit longer, i they go down allow the IMG tags until some massive spam or other comes from it.

Here are some Pros and Cons:

Pros:
It will give the scratch community another chance to show that we are better than this.
IN a little bit, you might be able to post images!
It will be measuring the appropriateness of the pictures, not the amount (like some other suggestions have been)

Cons:
The Scratch Team would have to look top to bottom, on the forums and keep collecting and reporting data.
It would take abit to get a conclusion.

Support!  It was one troll attack, and that was months ago.  I think we've proven that we can be trusted with images by now.

Re: A solution to the IMG tags

So many people use antidote now that there's no way of getting rid of them for good anyway, Scratch needs more mods before they take risks which could create more spam.

Remember that mods are all volunteers. They aren't professionals, and they don't get paid. Most troll attacks happen during times when not very many people are online, and no mods or admins are online anyway, so having more mods wouldn't exactly solve this problem, unless they were from different time zones.
Having a LOT of moderators could make people think that Scratch is unsafe, even though it isn't. Even though there have been troll attacks in the past, that's behind us. the trolls have been banned, and all of the inappropriate images have been removed.
I think that we've proven that we're better than that. The ST has been working on a solution to [img] tags. It's something where if an image gets reported several times (4?) then it is removed and the user is temporarily banned for 12 hours until a mod un-bans them. Al
In conclusion, Scratch just doesn't have the time and interest for more mods. Although, you can help the mods by reporting/flagging anything you find inappropriate.

I've seen a fair bit of spam since the img tags went. I suppose you don't go on show and tell?

How would having more mods make people feel it's unsafe?  hmm

well if people find out that there are alot of mods then they might think that something really bad happened on here or is still happening on here, becuase there are more.
