Central Scratch area

How would you call the central Scratch area? I would call "blocks" the one at the left, "stage" and "library" the ones at the right but I cannot find a good name for the central one. I guess it should express that it is about the behaviour/look of the sprite/stage (but I wouldn't like to call it the "behaviour/look" area  wink  )

Thanks for pointing me to these docs. This is exactly what I came up with, but I'm somewhat unsatisfied. Just to give you couple of examples:
- where is the stage thumbnail located? Not in the "sprite list" obviously. I saw that area called "library" but I'm not sure if this is the correct name
- how can I say to my students that the images of a sprite are in the "costumes" TAB? Where is the costume tab located? In the... TABs?!?

The stage thumbnail is located left from the sprite list. It's the image with the name 'Stage' under it.

Well, yes, the 'costume' tab is located in the tabs (it's the middle one). But if your students have trouble comprehending what tabs are, you can say to students to look on top of the scripts area and notice the words 'scripts', 'costumes' and 'sounds'; you can then explain from there how each work.

I hope that clarifies a few things.  smile

You also may want to check out the 'Educators' section of the forum, maybe you can get some more help in trying to explain SCRATCH to students from other educators.

The sprite area is where the sprites AND the Stage are located, because the Stage kind of counts as a sprite because you can add scripts to it. And no, there is no "library".
The costumes tab is in the "sprite profile", in other words, the area where you can see and edit everything about the sprite.
Hope that helps! Happy Scratch-ing!  smile
