Wait, hold on: this only works with local files, right? (I mean files on the same server) I thought this was a JS safety feature...  hmm

That's right. Unless the other server has expressedly allowed connection from the local server, in which case a connection can be made.

...In which case said server can use PHP to fetch data from another site and send it back to AJAX!  smile

Indeed. I will check what's wrong with it, because the strange bit is the site is still up, and the images don't work even when looked at on the site!

...not to mention that not a single image appears on the site itself, even if it's JPG or PNG. What's wrong with it!??

Re: Check for antidote code in your signatures!

I've completed a version of antidote where the string antidoteexists=false is converted to antidoteexists=true - it's available on the dropbox link (second one) on the antidote thread.

rookwood, your update is kind of unnecessary, especially since the PHP will be executed before the JS and wil therefore not know if the string turned true.

What we need is antidote to replace all instances of
/antidote.php
with
/anti4.png
and I can handle the rest  tongue

No, the point is you can have a url such as http://website.com/antidote.php?antidoteexists=false and it will convert it to =true. And in the newest version (Which I literally just uploaded) it will add &version=10 on the end. 10 being 1.0

Well, I suppose that would work! Nice thinking!  smile

Very cool! What method did you go with in the end?

The original URLs include a GET parameter set to false, which is then replaced by Antidote to true. Therefore, if Antidote is installed, the PHP image will receive "true", and otherwise "false".

It goes a bit further than that, of course, with checking the version and all. In general, however, if you have a blue image you're fine, and if you have a red one you better go download it  big_smile

Re: Check for antidote code in your signatures!

I like them! The graphics is lovely. You might want to make smaller, less obtrusive ones too, like banner ones and small 36px ones in case people want smaller ones. I might display one of those but not a great big one like that  tongue
