Dangerous Deviantart. Please Read. It's Important.

Ok, so we all know that websites can have viruses. However, I've noticed CRAZY virus activity on deviantART, a website that most of you have accounts on. Even I have an account. Just minutes ago, I was on DA when my norton 360 scanner detected a HIGH RISK virus trying to crash my computer. It restarted my computer an alerted me of the virus and that the virus was prevented. I looked to see where the virus came from, and there, on the "Source of problem" list was DeviantART. From now on I will only check my DA account over my 3DS internet. Those of you who DON'T have norton 360 and have a DA account, QUIT NOW. PLEASE!!!

I know, but I'm still only going on DA through my 3DS. I'll still reply if I can. I promise.

Well limewire and mediafire are, also.

Depends on what you do with them.

With mediafire, I share my MC mods and texture packs with only some people. Not illegal.

With limewire, I downloaded songs. For free. Illegaly. But I didn't know until that lawsuit came.

You can't characterize the entire site from one problem. Most likely it was a hacked advertisement on the page you were on. With XSS they can create little links anywhere, even invisible ones, that can do things like trigger downloads, turn on your webcam, etc.

Yes, but those ads are EVERYWHERE. DA needs to get it's act together and GET RID OF THE ADS.

Lol good luck with that. Might as well just shut down DA if it isn't making revenue.

There is no valid reason why I should need to drop $2,000 dollars to have a computer without viruses.
I will troll the Mac trolls now.
Install Linux on whatever computer you have and save thousands of dollars.

Ubuntu is an OS. A version of Linux.

My Toshiba runs Linux. I like it way better than Windows.

It's just I prefer my Mac better. I've had it for 6+ years, and it's never gotten a virus. My Linux computer got it almost a day after I switched to Linux. D:

Luckily, it hasn't gotten one since.

Please don't make me explain this again. I LOVE Mac hardware. If I had the money, I would buy a MacBook Pro.
I HATE the Mac trolls. Have a computer problem? Herp Derp spend $2000 on a Mac.

I should not and do not need to spend thousands of dollars on a computer that is virus-free.

What, might I ask, does it say the infection is? Antivirus software will at times catch false-positives or other relatively innocuous things such as tracking cookies. I remember that one time my old antivirus seemed to think that MS Silverlight was malware. It happens.  hmm
