i notice 2 projects that are at least 4 days old are still up on the newest projects.

Look at the bottom of the page. Do you see a "show all projects" button? That's the cause of your problems. Click that button and all will disappear!
By the way you have to get out of the Forums to see that button.

When you share (upload) a project that has the same name as a project you shared earlier, the new version replaces the earlier one. That allows people to improve projects that they posted without breaking any links that other people have made to the project (for example, by adding it to their favorite.) Replacing a project also means that the projects retains it's statistics such as the number of views or the "love-its".
If you want to make a new version of a project without over-writing the old one, just give it a different name. Sometimes people use version numbers, such as "Tetris-v1", "Tetris-v2", "Tetris-v3".
