Interested in applying to be a Scratch curator? oh yeah!

We choose curators that represent the diversity of the Scratch Community - girls, boys, gamers, storytellers, animators - Scratchers of all kinds! well youll never find another scratcher like me!
We especially like to choose Scratchers who have been helpful and contributing members of the Scratch community. Well, I help people on the main site and the forums!

When applying to be curator, it's good to give some thought to the kind of projects you'd like to show. "Cool projects that most people have never seen!" is a nice idea, but it doesn't really give us a good sense of what you like and why. We want to know what makes a project interesting to you. I would curate things like our RedRocker's 15 quotes. It is original, it brings enjoyment to people and over all, it makes people laugh, and all of us know that laughing is the greatest gift one can give or get!

Try viewing the projects in your favorites, and see if you can find a theme that describes them. Talk about that theme in your post on this thread, and consider providing a few links to good examples of that theme.
For example, I really like projects that use sound input from the microphone to draw interesting designs on the screen. Unpridictable, you never know how far your going to get, where the bouncy objects are going to go, or where the coins are going to persuade you to go!These are the types Id curate!

I find it funny how many new scratchers are applying, even though they don't really know enough about Scratch to apply. Maybe the words "Scratch Homepage" make everyone want to be Curator tongue

I agree, but curating, I believe, is to give the people who have very little views more views. (I may be wrong though)

I've always wanted to be a curator and It's my dream. I have 5 reasons why I think I deserve to be the next Curator.

1: I have a lot of experiance because I've been using Scratch for a long time now and know how hard it is to make cirtain types of projects.

2: Because there are 3 slots to enter my chosen games into, I would have the first and second slot for a game, and the last slot for an animation.

3: I know many great Scratchers who don't get enough views as they deserve like MoreGamesNow, and chanmanpartyman.

4: I will change the games I curate every 2 days.

5: The games I chose will be made by Scratchers who tryed their best and not necessary the best projects that I can find.

I hope this was long enough and sorry that I couldn't make links.

I would like to apply for curator. Although it is unlikely for me to be picked due to my "New Scratcher" status, I would still like to apply and hopefully become the first "New Scratcher" curator smile . I would curate many games and animations, I would especially curate cool games that use lists or an advanced piece that is unique among all other projects. I would NOT curate projects that have

over 20 views
over 7 love its
have come from a scratcher who has had a project on the front page in the last 3 months

Projects I would curate

Shows a unique aspect that other projects of it's kind don't have (like in a game, a customizable control scheme)
It would show that the project creator spent a lot of time on the project and is not a 30 minute build
If it's a game, it would show that you can play with it for at least five minutes and not be bored of it.
If it's an animation I would only curate AMV's

I have been curated once before and It was a really amazing thing that happened to me and I want to bring that joy to others. If I do find a project that seems to me has a lot of different kinds like it, I will try to find the best one of them that still fit under the requirements above that shows a unique feature in them. I would really be on the look for unique projects that have different ideas and really prove to me that they deserve to be on the front page.

As I said before,I am interested in becoming a curator. I am a New Scratcher,but I would really like to. What I would curate:

*I would curate games with a special uniqueness in them(not a side game,like copying sonic the hedgehog or something,or a remix,anything can be remixed but sometimes at first glance you know what it was remixed from.THAT's what I wont curate.

*I will curate RPG games ,because I believe that all games center from them because in almost all games you're playing as a character the maker has dreamed up.

*I will also curate anything else that seems just outside of the box.

What I wont curate:

*Something that was so obviously remixed,and all the person did was take things away that would be crucial to the game(or whatever it is.)

*I wont curate anything that is purely copied from a series already out there or copied from another Scratcher and did not change anything!

*I wont curate anything that has been curated in the past 5 weeks.

This is gonna sound odd coming from the person who made them, but I'd rather you didn't curate them. My projects are famous enough, and I'd rather someone who needs popularity more than me gets their project curated smile

It switches about every two weeks. Also, the next scratch curator could reveal thereselves as curator or just keep it secret until there time comes.

Hello! I am yoshi-fan, and it would be an honor if you would pick me to be a curator. I am primarily into games and projects that take advantage of what Scratch has (calculators, chat bots, etc.).

When, or if I get picked to be curator, I will choose projects that are in good quality to be front paged, but also projects that are not too popular already. This is because a lot of people limit their project viewing to the front page, because it is the only place they can find good projects. When I curate projects, I will try as hard as I can to prove that projects that are not on the front page can still be good, while at the same time people get an easy access to projects just right for them. smile

I would like to be a curator. I come on here at least twice a day (I would obviously give people more time to look at projects though). I would choose projects I think show creativity, brilliance and talent. Things like immensely complicated games and amazing art work. I would choose projects like that to show people what can be achieved by hard work and to inspire them to do more with their skills.

The projects might not be that recent (does that matter?), just ones I think deserve to be on the front page.
