It would make the link even if it didn't exist.
And I think it would be really easy to base it off the existing URL tag.

My only problem with this, is that the scratch team would have build an entire modification for this, as they can't use the censor system because it doesn't support special characters (like [] /).You just need to add a modification to the parser. Could probably be done in under 15 minutes.
I suppose so. But then they'd have to add censors for all the wiki articles.
Nope, it'd work similar to the URL tag.

Bump.
I think it's fine, because we have redirects put up pretty well. And anybody linking to the Wiki is probably not going to have too many typos.

How is It blockspam?
The block tags should be used at a minimum, as they are high quality images that can delay the page loading by quite a bit. One or two blocks is okay, but it usually triggers more scratchers to also post blocks.

You can check if a page exists with the API: http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/api.php?action=query&titles=A_RANDOM_PAGE_TITLE_OVER_HERE&format=xml gives you the info.
(Thanks, scimonster, for that info. )

Thanks, Google, for that info.
And it could also be useful for linking to a nonexistent page, such as too show what it looks like, or for someone to create it.
