Minecraft - Griefing Can Be A Good Thing

What started out as me and a friend being goofy and vandalising a statue, and ended with a giant crater TNT created, was the revelation that griefing can be an art.

Being a builder myself, I know what it feels like to be griefed, so I'm thinking about making a server where we can grief.

Destruction is fun sometimes.

Re: Minecraft - Griefing Can Be A Good Thing

Man that's just creepy.  A few months ago me and a friend vandalised a statue by, er, placing a few outward-sticking blocks.  Later on we blew up the blocks and I destroyed part of the statue.

That sounds like exactly what happened to you...

Re: Minecraft - Griefing Can Be A Good Thing

One time, someone made a huge block of Iron blocks, and I encased it with TNT.

Then I set it off.

I made a really cool statue of a steve skin (with a little touch-ups here and there)

I made greifing art.

True story.

(I'm really not kidding)

(Actually, I am. What's minecraft?)

(Okay, I'm not kidding)

In any server with MMOCraft, you can completely ruin a town by pulling a Pope Alexander III and rapidly tpa-ing random people there. More than half of them will be griefers and steal/destroy stuff.

Also, IRL griefing is called arson, and is illegal.

Lol I do it more because people will get so worked up over it than the fact it's an art  tongue

Re: Minecraft - Griefing Can Be A Good Thing

We went on some creative server with "GRIEF US!!!!" in the title but when you come on they say no griefing, so we blew up a tower, dug down, and weren't caught O:

Then we planted tnt underground and while people were walking on roads they were blown up.

And we weren't caught.

@werdna123: Thats actually exactly what we were doing o:

Anyone griefing can be cyber-bullying. - Not good.

Some Person wrote:

Bullying is bullying, whether it's in real life or in cyber space. It can be so very devastating to a person, even leading to suicide by the one who is being bullied.

Bullies need to be held accountable for their acts of violence, or the problem will never go away.

Always, always, always stand up for your rights to live without fear of being hurt by some bully. Call the school, call the police, call anyone related to this case that can help you. And definitely print out all bullying comments from the person in question. Documentation is everything in criminal justice systems.

No one will suicide because their statue in a kid's block building game is destroyed. That's like crying over spilled milk.

Oh, won't they? And how do you know that? Some people are more sensitive to these things.

Are you TRYING to get laughed at?
What you're saying is BEYOND ridiculous.

For the sake of your happiness, I mean no offense with this post.
But really now, what you're just saying is pretty stupid.
If your spot isn't protected then griefing is allowed there.
People who build there acknowledge that they are okay with their stuff getting destroyed.

I said 1 line. How ridiculous.

Doesn't mean no-one would take offence (I didn't...)
Next your going to say that I'm stupid. You really don't want to.
No, loads of servers have no plug-ins and others don't give anyone the ability to protect/protect it for them.
If you asked people most of them probably wouldn't. Unless your talking about a server that allows griefing which is fine....

No, we're not going to say that you're stupid.
We're just going to point out the flaws in your logic.
People don't commit suicide because someone deleted their statue or stole some items. Sure, they'll feel offended and annoyed, but they won't be driven to commit suicide.
Would YOU commit suicide if someone took stuff out of your chest or made holes in your house? I think not. Can you imagine anyone else committing suicide because of that? They wouldn't.

No-one's so addicted to minecraft that they'd kill themselves over it.

Yes I did do that.
Not sure if they caught me, logged off immediately.

I think its non mcban because I didn't get a log because of it and they are freaking easy to grief so... heres what I call the Creative Union also this one looks good as well Creative & Open For Destruction.

That's just part of something someone wrote. No, I'd never commit suicide.

I've seen people go "over the top" with reactions to griefing.

I'm not even going to bother with replying any more. It's just a waste of time.

I have a feeling this server won't be scratcher friendly. XD especially if statues are built.
