Also, Paddle could you please approve my site? I will report the link just so you know later.

It was started sometime around the end of December/early January (not sure exactly when), but I think it should be at least three months old.

Here are some good qualities about my forum:

Security
*Before people register, they have to agree to follow the Scratch Community Guidelines (I even put a link to them in an announcement!)
*The forums are moderated by me and two other people, and I have rules that are strictly enforced (any violation of the rules will result in a ban warning, a temporary ban, and then a permanent ban.)
*We have a CAPTCHA that users have to enter during registration to prevent spam. Also, a random password is sent to the user's email address that they can change later. This prevents people entering fake emails and also prevents spam because the bots (usually) don't check their email.
*We ask users to verify if they are Scratchers, and we don't allow users to remain anonymous. If users impersonate and aren't who they say they are, they get banned.
*We can handle flames and trolling, and trolls and other disrespectful people immediately get perma-banned. I don't tolerate that kind of stuff...
*When users are log in, they are not exposed to any ads. This way users don't go to other sites on accident.

Censoring
*My forums have a censor system, and cussing isn't tolerated. People who try to get around the censor are usually banned or warned.
*Our censor also converts YouTube links to YouTube Repeat.

Discussion
*We make sure every topic has a discussion point, and if a topic is controversial or causes flames, we close it and warn the user.
*We have forums that allow Scratch-related discussions AND we have a Miscellaneous forum.
*We have a forum where only mods and admins can discuss. Regular members cannot see it either.

Looks very impressive!  Judging from the date that the administrator registered (2011-01-07), you will be eligible for approval on April 7th.  Please send me another report then  smile

Unless you meant 2012 he is long overdue for approval!

Remember, the link I will report is moved from PunBB-Hosting to Sharkserve to Invision Free.
EDIT:I'm completely sure it will be approved once Paddle notices, so I will post it even though it isn't approved yet.

You forum looks much too new. Please be aware that forums need to be up for at least three months before they can be approved. A list of requirements for forum approval can be found on the first post of this thread.

*ahem*Ask Paddle. If he(yes, I remembered he's a he) remembers, he'll say it will be approved......March 10 Eastern Standard Time.
Like I said in my post, IT WAS MOVED MULTIPLE TIMES.

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

Here's my situation:

I have a forum that turns three months on the 25th. However, it stopped working and I'm making a new one with all the same stuff and everything.

Will the new one carry out that two and a half months? I think it should as it's mature and will be basically the same.

No, I think I remember them saying it wasn't. I recommend not moving unless your old one got deleted or something.

Hey, could you put the url brackets around the links at the bottom? It would be more convenient.

If it preserves all that data, and you know how to use the new system, all's well.

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

My website link was removed by a mod because there was an area for comments, but I deleted it, so now is my website approved? There's no way to post comments or anything, and the user posts page has to be done here: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic.php?id=91460 I don't know if it needs to be approved here or if I can just add it again. If it does need to be approved, it meets all the guidelines, and here's the link: http://therealscratchnews.weebly.com/

Sorry, must have missed it!  At first glance, it looks like you don't have any security issues, since there doesn't appear to be any way for visitors to add stuff to it (comments, forum posts).  Unless the wiki provides a way?  I tried to check out the wiki but it was not responsive.

The wiki is up, but you can't edit it unless you have an account. I have to review all people before they can get an account.

If there's no way for users to add content, then there is no need for permission.  You can link to it from Scratch, as long as the content is appropriate  smile

I have a forum, but it is strictly "mordorated" (my LOTR pun of moderated.. heheh!). Nobody posts on the forums anyways.

Regarding your request - the forums appear to have been established on
Dec 21, 2011 - so the earliest they can be approved is Mar 21st, 2012 (the 3 month rule).  The forums are the major concern so the fact that the rest of the site is older doesn't make any difference.  Please be sure you have read the security guidelines mentioned in the first post as well.  Just drop us another reminder in 12 days and you'll be in business  smile

Woo! Okay, so it can be approved today so...

Re: Links to Member-created Websites

If a site has a forum, could you link to the non-forum part, if it doesn't have any links to the forum? What about if it has an out-of-the-way link?

My site was recently removed from the okay list because it has an "email" field in the contact page. Would it be okay if I made that field optional instead? This way they could choose to keep their info private or to give out their info.

If the forum is accessible to the public - then it needs to meet the approval criteria.  Are you thinking about making a site with a "secret" forum?  Only accessible by directly entering the URL?  I'm thinking that secrets don't tend to stay secret very long...and it would still need to meet the requirements.
