Once i saw a project that looked and worked exactly like another project, but it didn't say that it was remixed (based off of [insert username of scratcher]''s project). so i made a theory (an idea that could be tested). If i downloaded a project made by someone else and saved it but saved it with my scratch username as the projects author and then upload it to the scratch website again, would it say that i shared it [insert # of minutes] ago? I tested it with this project here and my theory was proved right! When i change the projects author and upload it again it would not say that the project was based off of another project someone else made, but say it was just shared by me. I was wondering if in scratch 2.0, the scratch team could fix this glitch so there won't be any copyright claims in the future when scratchers remix a project with their username as the projects author and the project shows up with no username with the original sharer of the project.
I am very sure that my test is real and that i did not upload a project that i made claiming that it was made by someone else since i have no recollection of creating the test project (other than just uploading the project, i did not change, come up with the idea, or create the project itself)
The link to the original project that my test is based off of is here
Thank you for reading my proclamation Scratch Team and i hope you take my request to fix this glitch in consideration

Hey, mathmaster! Bugs and glitches belong in the bugs and glitches forum. I've reported it to be moved there, so if it's gone soon, look there.

Cool - thanks for caring and reporting this issue! However, I just tried to reproduce it, and couldn't. Here's the project I saved under my test account's name, and then uploaded.
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/lightnin100/2400741
As you can see, it still says "based on".

Ah.
I just successfully did it here:
http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/CheeseMunchy/2400813
It was a remix of this: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/tyleraltholz/2400780
I didn't change anything except the title, tags, and notes...
Edit: o, ya, and moved the sprite.

It's extremely annoying, and definitely a glitch.
I know from experience with project remixers who do not give credit and use the above glitch to claim it is their own.
Take a look at eamclaren's only project, which is a remix of mine.
It does not give credit or read [based off _____'s project].
The original project, which they remixed, is here.
